There is some surface rust especially on the rear suspension under neath, And the Calipers as well. I have dealt with surface rust on other cars in the past but what is the quickest and best way to remove rust and give them a quick coat of black rust paint. I looked at the Rust Check product but I wonder if it is safe to use on calipers. I dont want it to get on the pistons.
Rust proofing is not undercoating the applicator has to get between the sheet metal with a waxy type oily mixture. Undercoating only protects the surfaces, most rust starts in behind the panels and parts. Basically almost anywhere the factory has done spot welds and there are thousands.
My question was about removal of surface rust.
If you have access to an air compressor with a fair amount of cfm, a needle scaler will make short work of the rust. And then reapply a quality frame paint.
The needle scaler looks like a neat rig. I think I'll just use a wire brush where I can reach. A lot of modern rust paints have inhibitors in them do they not.
