$27000 (agreed-upon price, includes dest)
+2362 (8.75% tax)
+320 (title)
+80 (doc fee) -500 (flex cash for using their financing)
= $29,262 OTD
Purchased from David Flores at SF Honda, great guy to work with. Negotiated the price over the phone, and he honored the price when I walked in, no fuss. Great overall buying experience with David and the team at SF.
Note that I called 15 different dealers to get this aggressive pricing. I had several dealers telling me that they couldn't even come close to that figure, and even had one almost flat out call me a liar trying to use a random number to aid in negotiations. If you can get anything below $29,5 OTD for an EXL AWD in CA right now, you're doing exceptionally well. Almost all dealers were quoting over $30 OTD, and the highest was $32 (what a joke).
FWIW, I have found SF and Oakland Honda to have the most aggressive pricing in my last few years of helping my family buy Honda vehicles.
Car Price = $23,545
Tax = $300 (SC flat tax)
Title = $37
Doc Fee = $349
Out the door = $24,231 (was with the $500 Honda financing, also got them to throw in the all weather mats)
I emailed my local dealer and stated that Invoice price would win my business. They had absolutely no problem doing that. Here's the out the door calculation for where I live:
Just got this quote: CR-V AWD w/Navi kona/black
MSRP 31,025 selling price 28,139
doc 299
Plus 6.25% tax and 100 title/reg
Also Offered: Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and 2yr/25000 mile maintenance. (Not just oil changes) This covers the entire list of maintenance items including tire rotations, component inspections, lubrications, and more.
Is this a good price?
Here is the deal I got yesterday from Capital City Honda in Olympia, WA:
Total Vehicle Price including $830 Destination and $375 in dealer-installed, factory accessories = $23,521
OTD Price including $150 Doc, $2,116.89 tax, and $113.25 license = $25,901.14
Assuming MSRP w/dest is $24,875 (not counting the accessories), I paid $1,729 under list.
Just bought crv-ex 2wd (dvd, no nav) for 24000(includes dest) + 399 processing fee + 50.75 title fee + 10 DMV fee + 731.97 tax
=25191.72. After 500 discount for using their finance it came to 24691.72. They advertised .9 % interest for "well qualified buyers" on all Hondas. They refused to give me that though. Would only agree to 1.49 (my credit score is 835.) 36 months will cost me 303 in interest for what I financed.
In VA (3% tax) Only extra I got was 2 free oil changes. Sounds like several of you got a better deal and more free options. note: info on sticker was msrp 24795 + 830 = 25625. This is first new car for me. Hope I don't have to buy again for a long time.
Just bought a '13 4WD EX-L from Main Line Honda for $27,345 plus $212 tags/fees plus 6% sales tax. Piazza said they couldn't budge below $27,479. Kicking myself for not registering here until after the purchase.
Looks like prices are a lot better in the States. MSRP in Canada is 29,780 (LX), 32,680 (EX), 34,880 (EX-L) and 36,780 for the Touring. Shipping etc is extra and we pay 10% sales tax. I'm in the process of shopping for a new one right now.
I purchased thru Costco's Auto Program (pre-negotiated price of $500 over dealer's invoice).

Oops. I forgot to mention that it had $420 of accessories on it but the numbers above are correct. IIRC they were the rubber all weather mats, cargo mat, and the tonneau (pull out) cover for the rear cargo area. If there was anything else I don't remember
Just got a 2013 CRV EX-L Navi AWD with splash guards and nitrogen filled tires for $29500 and no doc fees.
Tax and licensing will be extra
Lincoln Nebraska
Not the best price from what Iv'e seen but we're kinda limited for dealerships
There must be a dealer in your area who will "meet or beat any price", take that quote to them and see what they can do. I would be very leery of the deal offered. Once they have you 150 miles from home, you can bet that there will be add-ons or "oh, we forgot about this", or the manufacturer requires this.....it is a guarantee they will do something, it is in their nature.
I just got this quote from an internet sales guy at Lindsay Honda in Columbus (where I've bought my last two cars):
I can quote you a 2013 Honda CR-V EX-L with Navigation for $29,064.15.
I specified the AWD version. Does that sound like a decent deal? I previously received a quote of $27,566.39 for a 2013 non-NAVI AWD CR-V. $1500 seems a lot just to add the NAVI.
aslguy: Ditch the Navi... reading through the forums, it appears the Navi is NOT that nice or pleasant to use anyway. And considering the $1,5000 price tag, I'd never think twice!
Just know that the stock audio (with or without Navi) is absolutely horrific in the new CR-V. Be prepared!
I recently purchased 2013 CRV EX - AWD at 24800. This is before all additional fees and taxes. Got it out of the dealership around 26800 or so. If you have time and shopping for new one without any Trade In, I suggest to communicate with two dealers over email. Exchanging quotes from both with each other. They want to stay in competition and should be able to give you good discount and price. If you are loking to trade in, make sure to shop around a bit and see who gives you the best price.
Two days ago we bought my wife a 2013 CR-V EX-L AWD (Basque Red w/ gray leather - No Navi or RES) w/ splash guards and a cargo tray for $28,814.84 OTD. Here is the break down:
$27,500 - Vehicle including destination, splash guards and cargo tray.
$905.09 - VA Sales Tax (3.5%) - I got burned a bit on this, VA Sales Tax is 3%, dealer added in 0.5% and called it a Business License Tax.
$409.75 - Doc fee, title and tags.
The dealer adjusted sticker was $29,683. Original sticker was $29,525 (incl. dest). Dealer installed splash guards and was charging an addt. $158.
All in all, I'm very happy with the price and even happier with the car!
Wife and I just took delivery of a Basque Red 2013 AWD EX-L w/NAV to replace our 2008. We Went through the Costco Buying program, and worked with Concord Honda....
Price was $29,264 + tax, reg doc etc. So Far (about a week ) it is a great car... Of course
we knew that as this replaces our 2008 EX-L AWD which we loved....
E-mailed all the dealers in the area picked the lowest one who quoted me 23348. Once we got down there they tried to sell us on all the dealer installed crap (tinted windows, nitrogen, splash guards, paint protection, door edge guards, floormats, cargo tray). I told them I was willing to pay them $75 to tint the front windows as that is how much it would cost me to have my guy do it.
We got into a bit of an argument with them saying that they tinted all the windows I explained to them that the EX trim and above comes with all the back windows already tinted, so there was no way they tinted them. They finally agreed that I was correct and the salesman was wrong. I said fine, I still don't want any of that other crap you put on the car and that I would take it for the e-mailed price + 75 (for window tint). Salesman ran off and came back with the sales manager who told me how much money they were going to lose selling the car. I told them that wasn't my problem and that I'd like them to honor their e-mailed quote. He ran off and came back with their e-mailed price + 200. I figured we had gotten close enough and we did actually want the cargo liner so we went ahead and drove it home!
So far the wife LOVES her new car!
Thanks to everyone on this site and I'll no longer be a lurker and hopefully turn into an active member.
