After reading the reviews of the navigation system I decided not to get that option. I bought a Garmin GPS instead. As far as phones go, I don't seem to have any problems with my Blackberry. And there be a lot of mountains 'round here.......
I have had similar audio problems with our 2012 CRV. I wrote to Honda and have talked to the dealership on several occasions. The service department said they get lots of calls about the car's software problems, but Honda does not have a plan to fix them.
I am currently exploring whether it would be worthwhile to start legal action, as was done with the low MPG with the Honda Civic Hybrid, and for the air conditioning compressor on earlier CRVs. I think it would be worthwhile to put an online survey together to gather owner input about the software problems (e.g., the audio faults discussed in this thread).
Comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I think that we somehow should encourage Honda to do something about their software.
One thing that would be useful is if anyone wants to post, in one sentence, the problem they are having (e.g., USB audio is shut off when iPhone re-connects). That would help me prepare the survey.
2012 CRV EX (no nav): Bluetooth continually disconnects and reconnects with my Samsung Android phone.

Just an FYI, for iPhone users, I've read on the Apple support forums that these issues will be fixed in the 6.1 release. This release should be by the end of the month.
But like anything, it's hearsay until it's released and works![]()
Never had any trouble pairing my i Phone 4, it finds it every time and connects right away. Guess I just got a good one.
I know this post is a bit old, but I thought I might help by clearing up any of these issues with some of the solutions I've found on the web. I too had these problems with my iPhone 4, but everything works perfectly now as long as you're running the latest version of Apple's iOS for the iPhone.
If you find that the bluetooth connection between your iPhone and 2012-12 CR-V periodically drops out, try turning off wireless connectivity on your iPhone. To do this, choose Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off. This tends to eliminate connectivity problems. Pain in the butt, I know. But it seems to work.
In order to have your incoming text messages read to you via your CR-V's navigation panel, you must first enable notifications from the HandsFree Link bluetooth settings on your iPhone. You can do this while your iPhone is not connected to your CR-V's HandsFree Link.
To change this setting on your iPhone, choose Settings > Bluetooth > HandsFree Link. When the HandsFree Link panel opens, turn "Show Notifications" on. Now, when you connect your iPhone to your CR-V via HandsFree, any incoming text messages will be read to you by the voice in your navigation system.
One caveat here, however. The CR-V also offers the option of texting back, via voice commands. This is not available for the iPhone. It does however work with Blackberry devices.
I hope this helps anyone who's having these issues. It took me a year to finally get it all straight, so I know how frustrating this is. The CR-V is a great vehicle. This feature (for those using the Navigation system) makes it that much better.
Cheers!
Phil
