2017 CR-V Touring AWD
I did not keep track of the car's trip miles on first three fill-ups. The mpg listed below comes from the trip computer and was reset after each fill-up. At the end I calculated the mpg with fuel used and miles driven. The calculated mileage is 31.28 mpg overall (beginning with 1269 miles burning 160.182 gallons over 5,011 miles), revealing that the computer mileage is pretty accurate and well within the margin of error considering we don't know the accuracy of the pump quantity shown on the gas receipts.
The mileage killer seemed to be wind and vehicle speed. On the leg to Hays, KS we were driving into a strong (20-25 mph?) headwind. When driving at speeds above 70 mph, the mpg took a hit as you would expect. Our best mileage, around 35 mpg, seemed to be on heavily crowded interstates when traffic kept moving, and I think that may be because of less wind resistance due to the flow of traffic. I can't explain the last segment, other than we may have been traveling a wee-bit above the speed limit
