Flip Storage Llid in Center Console

Somehow I broke my wife's flip storage lid on the center console of her 08 CRV ( see pictures). I leaned on the left corner while it was closed and forced it open, now it won't stay closed. Have been ooking for possible repair options online but can't find the same console design (car bought/is in Latin America).

Here are a couple of pictures of the console with the lid held shut and how it now remains.

Any advice on how to fix it and where to look for parts is welcome.

Hi I have the same problem with my CRV 2011...I can not find a way to fix this...Did you fix your wife's center console?

Did you manage to find a solution to fix your issue? I bought a used CRV 2008 2 days back. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that the storage lid is not closing as you described above. I was wondering if there's a DIY procedure somewhere.

Im told that the part of the console with the broken lid is a component that can be sold separately from the console itself. In Panama the dealer quoted the part at $80. Ive got the same problem and looking for a DIY solution. Thanks.

Problem Solved - I fixed my console fliptop lid issue on my 2009 CRV yesterday. The storage compartments have rubber bottom liners removeable by pinching then with pin nosed pliers. I removed the screws revealed on the bottom of the rear compartment, which enabled me to lift upwards with a firm tug the fliptop compartment. It is however attached to some wiring below it. The same pliers helped to squeeze and detach the scissor style connector holding the wiring. Having fully removed it I saw laying on the carpet just below it the plastic and rubber 1/2"-1" spring loaded piece that was knocked out of place. It easily slid right back into its slot and my unit is working perfectly once again. Halleluyah!!! Hope this helps.
