    Hot air in recirculate mode

    Hi Forum

Yesterday I have noticed that when A/C and climate control is off and recirculate button is off too it still blow out hot air.
Do anybody else experience the same? At summer time as I recall it blow out outside air.

    Honda CRV 2012.

    Thanks

The light for recirculate must be 'on' to go into the recirculate mode. When it is 'on', there should be no airflow with everything else off.
When the recirculate light is 'off', then outside air will enter.

Yup, it works such way. But there is one exception: it's continue to blow out hot air (outside air entered and heated by engine coolant). It happens only when Climate Control was in heating mode (blow out hot air) before switching off. If I move control knob to low temperature and switch off C/C, it blow out outside air.

I don't know how it works in details, but it is looks like when I switch off the C/C, it doesn't return some valve to proper position.

I am confused. Does it still blow hot air (or any air) when the recirculating light is ON and the climate controls and fan controls are OFF?
If so, then there is a problem with a 'valve' (flapper). etc.

    Hi Buffalo4,

    Recirculate button works correctly.
When everything is off, and recirculation light is on, there is no air come in through ventilation holes.
When everything is off, and recirculation light is off, there is air come in through ventilation holes (I suppose it is outside air)only when I am driving.
So my question is what is the temperature of this "outside air"?

In my case recirculation light is off and everything is off too (air come in through ventilation holes only when I am driving), temperature of this air could be different.
It blow out hot air only if Climate Control was turned off during heating mode, and 'normal' (not to cold not to hot) air if Climate Control was turned off during ventilation mode.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Turn on C/C.
    2. Switch off recirculation mode (light is off).
    3. Set temperature to HI on knob.
    4. Wait 1 minute
    5. Turn off C/C.
Result: Blowing out ourside air is hot.
It is looks like it still forward some engine coolant to Heater radiator.

    1. Turn on C/C.
    2. Switch off recirculation mode (light is off).
    3. Set temperature to LO on knob.
    4. Wait 1 minute
    5. Turn off C/C.
Result: Blowing out outside air is cold.

I am just trying to figure out is it correct?
