crv 2.2tdti engine cut out

i started my vehicle as normal engine cut out after 20 metres wont restart no funny noises will turn over ok just wont fire up ?

Hate to sound smug but have you checked fuel gauge?

i have fuel but i appreciate you had to ask.The problem seems to point to expensive fuel pump replacement as when you manually squeeze the fuel the engine will start and run as normal ?

I think your on to it. Most likely the high pressure pump. There has been some trouble with them shearing the pump cog off the motor drive shaft. The OEM new pump from Honda is $$$$. Try for a used one? What procedure did you use to get fuel in?
