2004 CR-V Dies after initial start

I bought my 2004 Honda CR-V brand new and passed it on to my daughter last year. She is actually not as hard on the car as I was - fast driving, etc. but lately has had issues starting the car. The key turns, engine starts then it dies. It's somewhat cold where we live but the battery was replaced Summer of 2012 so I can't imagine that is the problem. I have read other posts about turning the key to the "ON" position to let the fuel pump activate and have suggested that to my daughter as well. Typically it will only die once before running and driving, but this morning she said it took several attempts before the car would stay running. It has just over 100K miles. I'm good about maintenance but the dealership was unable to identify the problem. Any helpful recommendations?

    Thanks in advance.

Did they check the throttle body to see if it was clean?
Check the battery voltage after the car has started and stalled. Low, under 12v can cause this stalling. Fully charge the battery on an electronic smart charger, (12hrs) and start the car again to see if it stalls. If the problem (low V) returns, replace batt.

Ummmm, I don't know about the throttle body but will definitely ask it to be checked and will take your suggestion about charging the battery and testing. I appreciate your help! Thank you very much.

Might want to replace the fuel filter as well.

Have you had your valves adjusted? Valves out of tolerance can cause the same symptom.
