    Lock/ Unlock knob...

There is a knob under the dash below the steering column which can be turned to "lock or unlock".
You have to use a mirror or stick your head under the dash to see it.
    Anyone know what it does??
    Thanks, Iver. 2004 CRV.

Not sure about 2004 but on my 2010, by unlocking, you will be able to remove the panel and get access to the bottom portion of the dashboard.

    Thank you,
That sort of looks as though that's what it is.
    Thanks, Iver

Do you mean the twist knob the panel parallel to the floor? It's black and covers the area under the steering column. The knob allows the front of the panel to drop for service or inspection. The forward side (near the firewall) is held in by a pin.
