Navi fitment into 2007 CRV ES UK model

Have just bought our second CRV, which is an ES 2007 model year (New Shape) with stock radio/cd. The ES model, which we have states that a Honda Navi upgrade is available, unlike the SE model. We bought a secondhand 2007 Navi unit (taken from a similar new shape vehicle) with all the bits (Disc, Manual, GPS Aerial) and went ahead and fitted it. This is where we found a "gotya". One of the connectors does not fit anywhere on the rear of the the Navi unit, which obviously contains the power feeds since the unit is totally dead. Having found no issues fitting other OEM Navis to other makes e.g. Jeep Grand Cherokee, we find this very unsatisfactory, particularly when Honda dealers do not appear to be interested in the problem. We are currently awaiting a reply from Honda HQ in the UK, but are wondering whether other owners have had similar issues and have found a source for an adaptor cable. The UK sports 3 models, an SE, ES and EX. The latter two are stated by Honda as taking the Honda Navi unit, the SE makes no mention of this capability. To someone who has experience of the auto design/manufacture process, commonality is a key in reducing variants and hence we would have thought the harnesses in both the ES and EX would have been the same. We are very keen on keeping the OEM unit even though after market units are available and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Me again, updating my own post BEWARE!!!! - Have just found out from the Honda Technical HQ that there is NO WAY my unit will fit my CRV. It is solely a Factory Fitted option and that is that! If aftermarket Navs can be fitted using existing harnesses, why not your own units? Shame on you Honda, you advertise an optional Navigation system in your blurb for an ES model but do not mention is HAS TO BE FACTORY FITTED.
