    Daytime Running Lights

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have a question about my 2009 V. How do you turn off the daytime running lights?

    Turn off the ignition?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Let me be the first to ask the obvious. Why?

Pull fuse number 37 from the interior fuse panel.

Double check your Owner's Manual to be sure the fuses are numbered the same.(I checked, they are the same)

It's one of the first things I did on my 2008 as well.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to disable a safety feature?

X2 I drove a city bus for over 30 years and we always drove with our full light set on for safety.(365 days a year)Same with our fire dept. and police.

"Disabling the DRL is necessary for parking with a girl with the car running in the winter at dark. This way the police wont see you and come investigate".

This is what I read on another Honda forum. Most likely a younger person.

Just shut off motor and restart DRL will not come on until emerg brake is released. But always remember to crack a window with the motor running, play safe.

    Why disconnect Daylight Running Lights

I'm not convinced they are much of a safety feature and why waste the electricity and light bulbs.
Thank each of you for your comments and the 'fix'.

    Very Reasonable Explanation!

The police do have a rather dampening effect on amatory ardor. As such this is a most reasonable explanation for the disabling of a safety feature. However as tcturner noted simply: 1) engage the parking brake, 2) stop the engine, 3) restart the engine 4) crack a window and voila amatory bliss. Perhaps I should do a photo essay...any volunteers?

It's now illegal to operate a motor vehicle in Nova Scotia without lights (daytime or pull that switch). This may be a first.
