Code P0341 Variable valve timing phase gap

CRV LX 4WD 2004 The MIL lamp came on. When DTC was done at an auto parts store we got the P0341 code. Please advise what actually may be the problem and is it a minor or major repair ?

Coincidentally, last month's service news talked about this.

Hi folks, I too recently had p0341 code show up on my 2008 CRV. We proceeded with replacing the chain, guides, actuator and unfortunately, the CIL continues to come on, although intermittently. Work was done at a small shop, although he was a red seal mechanic at local Honda dealership for 15 years so I had full confidence. I'm into the job now for 1600 and still have the light coming on. Any suggestions?

Hi , My 2004 CRV has a similar problem. When the engine is cold the P0341 code comes on , I can reset it (with my DTC reader) when the engine has been running for a minute and the code will stay off until the engine gets cold again. The time between start and being able to reset is so predictable I can almost wait until the coolant temp has hit 57 degrees and it will stay reset. I have serviced the car , replaced the A Cam sensor and pulled and cleaned the VTC solenoid. The only other thing I can see is that the timing (as per the reader) does not advance very far BTDC until the car has warmed up . Any ideas please !!
