Code P0341 Variable valve timing phase gap

CRV LX 4WD 2004 The MIL lamp came on. When DTC was done at an auto parts store we got the P0341 code. Please advise what actually may be the problem and is it a minor or major repair ?

Coincidentally, last month's service news talked about this.

Hi folks, I too recently had p0341 code show up on my 2008 CRV. We proceeded with replacing the chain, guides, actuator and unfortunately, the CIL continues to come on, although intermittently. Work was done at a small shop, although he was a red seal mechanic at local Honda dealership for 15 years so I had full confidence. I'm into the job now for 1600 and still have the light coming on. Any suggestions?

Hi , My 2004 CRV has a similar problem. When the engine is cold the P0341 code comes on , I can reset it (with my DTC reader) when the engine has been running for a minute and the code will stay off until the engine gets cold again. The time between start and being able to reset is so predictable I can almost wait until the coolant temp has hit 57 degrees and it will stay reset. I have serviced the car , replaced the A Cam sensor and pulled and cleaned the VTC solenoid. The only other thing I can see is that the timing (as per the reader) does not advance very far BTDC until the car has warmed up . Any ideas please !!

I have an 05 CRV withe the trio of CEL, VSA and triangle lights. I have been reading these posts and got a lot of good info, unfortunately none of it applies to my vehicle. Getting P0341, cam sensor. When I first start the car in the morning all 3 lights come on. If I stop when it is warm, and restart it, only the CEL is on, the other 2 go off. To date I have:
Changed the oil and filter 3 times in 2 weeks.
Replace the VTEC solenoid. That worked about a week.
Replaced the cam sensor. That lasted one key cycle.
The car runs great but the lights bug the hell out of me and I can tell the car is lagging when the light is on.
Have 292,000 miles on it and it is NOT sledged.
Oh yea, I cleaned the oil pressure screen, what what reason I have no idea.

PLEASE can anyone offer some suggestions?

Well, since no one has answered, I will update with my own solution. The timing chain tensioner was bad, you could compress it with 2 fingers. We decided to pull the front cover off and replace the chain, which was stretched almost 1/2 inch compared to the new one. So ironically all the sensors were telling me the truth, it WAS out of time. The intake cam had skipped 3 teeth, the exhaust was still in time.

And I wish someone could tell me how to start a new thread post, I can't for the life of me figure it out, so I am always replying to the closest thread that applies.
