Clear Bra Questions

My dealer has suggested I get a 3M clear bra on my new CR-V.

He quoted me a price of $895 to cover the front bumper and headlights, about a third of the way up the hood, the back of mirrors, and the cup area under the front door handles.

Does that seem like a reasonable price?

If any of you have had this done to your car, was it worth it?

If any of you didn't do this, do you wish you had?

I've had mine on for only a week so it's too soon to speak to protection or durability. I'll look at the price when I get home. It looks good when you look for it.

Greenzter - I did a search and only found two that mentioned price and one was from 2008 and the other hood only. Please post links to the many threads.

KiKi - Darn. The itemized price is not with my paperwork. I had the sales guy write it all down for me and I'll keep looking. He told me that the dealers set the price on accessories (plus labor) so I assume you can call around and get quotes.

I'm still looking... But here's some pics. I had to work to get a light angle that showed the edge so well. In most cases you can't see it.

In April 2012 I paid $675 for a professional 3M installer to come to my home and install it on my CR-V in my garage. This includes the headlights, mirrors, etc and is the second time I have used this installer. I was so pleased with the product on the first car that I was sure to have it on my CR-V too. We have had it on our other car since early 2010 with no issues and I definitely recommend the 3M product. You might check the 3M site to find a local installer, that is how I found the one I use.

According to the link below, clear bras cannot be installed on headlights...
