2002 Cr-V oil leak - up high somewhere

High folks, first post but used the site many times...Thanks!

Have a 2002 with about 155k that has developed a engine oil leak, passenger side. First a couple drips. Then after a 400 mile round trip I noticed several drips on the driveway. Cleaned it up, ran it in the driveway for about 20 minutes at 3000 rpm. Nothing. I thought it was the front seal. Drove it a couple days and kept looking. Looks like some fresh oil up near the waterpump that may be taking it's time getting down to the floor. Anything in that area known to cause a leak? Valve cover looks good.

Car is a 5spd, awd and hasn't given me any problems. Still getting about 25-26mpg mixed driving back and forth to work. I've put about 50k on it since I got it 2.5 years ago.

    Rob

Well I'm going to go with it is the front crank seal. It looks like oil is being slung around. What a beotch to get that bolt out. Turned out a 3/4" drive with a 40" handle finally broke it loose.

Hi robj2002, I have a 2002 CRV with the exact same problem. It has 149k and engine oils are all over the place in the 360 degree crankshaft direction. I did some researches and I was thinking either the front crankshaft seal or the rear one. I replaced the front seal today so will see if that stops the leak. Did you get your fix?
