2012 Battery Goes Dead

Had to jump start three times. Green dot indicator is no longer there (it's black). Took the V to two dealers & first one said the batt is OK; second one charged the batt (it was low on charge). Green dot is no longer there (still black). I Googled battery green dot, and there are MANY opinions, but most say once the green dot is gone, it's not coming back. The battery status indicator (green, black, white) only is for one cell. Alternator & elec sys checks OK.

The dealer who charged the batt, will not replace it because it still shows "good" on their equipment. Other than getting a lawyer, what are my options?

Not good news. Have seen several posts about battery problems on new CRV's. Don't remember this for previous model years.

I had the same problem with my new 2012 CRV and have chimed in on several posts about dead or weak batteries in the new CRVs. My car was slow to turn over from the day one and a couple of mornings it would not start. I tried charging the battery but the green light never came on. Finally took it to the dealer and they replaced the battery and it's been fine ever since. They told me that's not an uncommon problem these days with OEM batteries.

I had the same problem with my 2012. The battery lasted for about 3 months then croaked. The dealer gave me a new battery and this one is sealed without a "green" light. He said it is a newer version. No problems since.

Not sure on the green light ya'll are talking about at all, but today was the second time my 2012 was in the shop for the battery dying, 3rd time it died on me. 1st time it died on me, hubby just jumped my butt for listening to the radio in acc on my hour-long lunch break (which I hadn't done, but he didn't believe me) and charged it with his charger. 2nd time, less than a wk later, she went into the dealer, where we were told it had been a bad ground. 3rd time WAS after listening to radio in acc position, but for less than TEN minutes. This time, it got a new battery.

Starting to tick me off. The ENTIRE reason we're leasing a brand new CRV is because of my POS cobalt not being such a reliable car. Sad thing is, even the brand new stuff isn't reliable!

I'm seeing a lot of different threads complaining about this issue, so wanted to make folks aware there is a FIX.
It has now been reportedly 'caught' and fixed by Honda. Please see here:

I just replaced the battery on my /08 with a new one from Wal Mart. I was able to pick one up for $59. It is like night and day. The OEM battery never cranked right and in my opinion didn't have enough CCA. Problem solved for $59. I agree with the OP that the dealer should be stepping up and replacing his/her battery.

Honda is aware of this problem. Please refer to Honda's service bulletin # 12-041 dated Nov. 13, 2012. I have this problem myself! Good luck!
