it should have tabs on the top left/right corner of the glove box when you open it. grab a flashlight and have a look. when i changed mine, i couldn't see the tabs either coz it's pretty dark in there. i just felt may way around and i found them.
1. open glove box
2. look on the right side of the glove box and you will see the strut arm. push it until releases.
3. push the golve box tabs inward to fully lower the glove box
4. you will see the filter assembly.
5. push the tabs on the filter aseembly (left/right - push inward) and pull out whole piece.
6. replace filter and look at the airflow arrow and make sure you load the filter the right way.
total time to replace the filter should take you no more than 5 minutes.![]()

I have a 2008 EX-L, with 24900 miles, how often should I replace this?
pull it out and have a look. it really depends on where you live, where you park, how often you drive, etc.
where i live, honda recommends changing somewhere around (every) 35,000 kms i think. i just changed mine last month at around 26,000 kms. and it looks almost black. i plan to check/change mine every year. i put on around 18,000 to 20,000 kms. each year.
it's much cheaper to buy the filter online, dealers rip you off so much.

X2 on driving conditions. We get a max of 15,000 miles out of filters with the pollen and dust in our location. I usually buy a couple at a time along with the engine filters and just change them every 6 months.
My glove box didn't have a strut on the right. All I had to do was squeeze the sides of the box toward the middle, to free the rubber bumpers that hold it in. The glove box then falls completely open. The filter is easily accessible, and can be removed by pinching the tabs at each end and pulling it out. Replacement filters are available at many auto parts stores -- you don't need to go to the dealer. I paid $17 for one at Advance Auto Parts.
