I ordered my Honda with navigation and back-up camera this past summer.
Now I am getting notice for an updated disc for $149.00.
This is a rip-off. The first and actually first two should be free.
With Honda GPS in two cars, I am going to update only every 2 or 3 years. That way, I am effectively reducing the yearly price.
Besides, where I live, almost every square inch of land has a road on it already. Instead of building new roads, they need to fix what they have now...
Purchased a 2011 about 3 months ago but had a major issue with the navi today--database version is 6.92 software version is 2.01.01 but am not sure if this is the latest available--was in a city today where a MAJOR street was NOT available to be used for directions-in fact, went through the entire list of this city's streets to see if it was possibly listed elsewhere and could not find it--Is there anyplace these glaring errors can be reported? Don't think my dealer would care to bother with something like this--was just glad I knew this city I was in today but if I was far from home, this could have been a REAL problem--Think I will keep my old Garmin in the glove box to use as a backup in cases like this!!
Reporting errors wont help you until they actually fix it and then apply the update in a future release but it will help others and yourself when purchasing products in the future.
In the thick navigation manual, on page 105 (for 2010 models) there is a pair of phone numbers and a mailing address for reporting errors. But they will not be able to send you a "patch" for the current nav system, only note for future Nav DVD editions:

Better to cut out the middle men and use the proper link I posted above. Honda buys the Nav Radio from Alpine so if you report it to Honda they will have to forward it to Alpine which licenses the map data from Navteq so Alpine will have to forward it to Navteq. Too many steps for detail to be lost. Besides you can actually view the mistake you are reporting on the map on your computer screen and tag it so there is no mistake of what you are trying to report. They will also notify you by email eventually once it is fixed. You can even use those maps where you report errors to see if it was fixed then make sure the update version you want to buy is dated after you saw it correctly you have a better chance of getting the correction in your update although there is some lag in implimentation due to production limitations.
