xm radio mount in 2012 cr v

I just got a 2012 ex cr v. I was told that I didn't have the option of adding satellite radio when I bought the car. I don't want to replace the radio that is already in the car so I have to get a separate xm/sirius radio. Best Buy wants to mount this on the vent but that will block the vent and in the winter it will get hot from the heater. Does anybody have suggestions/pictures of where I should mount this radio?
    Thanks

I just bought a 2012 CRV as well. My local Car audio shop suggested the little space down below the gearshift. I will be looking into this, but would also like to know if anyone else added an XM aftermarket receiver to the stock CRV LX/EX system, where did you place it and how was it mounted?

Do the XM receivers connect to the Aux jack inside the center console cubby, or do they tap into the Aux wiring?

PS: Went to my local shop today. The space right beneath the gearshift is right in front of the Cup Holders. Would not be accessible if cups were in place, and they usually are. So the other space for mounting the XM receiver and mount is insire the center console, hidden away. Hmmm. I usually program the stations I like and then just select a present. So that could work. Gonna think about it over night however. In that location, I would be taking my eyes off the road to see the display and change stations if I was driving. Maybe not such a good idea. Hmmm.

Just curious if anyone has worked out a solution to this yet. I am currently considering buying an LX, but I've gotten very spoiled by having XM Radio in my Equinox the past 3 years and am reluctant to part with it. Still, not reluctant enough to justify spending several thousand more to get it.

I was wondering about this as well. Hope someone has a answer for this. I was thinking that the xfm module would just plug into the stock radio and you could see everything on the center display like on the EX-L models. I would assume its the same radio without the xfm module.

Have you looked at adding the factory XM module? Line item #5 on this page: http://www.hondapartsdeals.com/hpa_p...nGroupID=20902

Thanks, Jepalan. That's a great idea. I am waiting for my CR-V to arrive, and after I get it, I will look into doing this.

P.S. Love the CRV , I got 37 mpg on the highway,2wd-cruise control on 60-65 mph.
I filled up and the computer stayed right around 37 mpg.Pretty neat.

How would you control it? The non-L EX doesn't have the the xm button.
