2013 EX-L NAV (DVD or No DVD)

I'm looking into purchasing a New 2013 CRV EX-L. I'm undecided on the Nav.

Does anyone know if the new SAT NAV systems use DVDs? I really don't want to purchase new DVD's every few years to keep up to date.

Is there any other feature with the Nav that might be worth getting the Nav?

    Thanks...

I have the system in our 2007 (it's still basically the same), no I wouldn't invest the money in another Honda factory system again. Yes, the backup camera is nice but the functionality of the GPS versus the garmin in our Civic is too dated. If you want the "coolness" of the in-dash system...go for it. If you want a better GPS - DON'T.

So it still has a DVD somewhere in the trunk that provides the maps?

It's in the actual head unit itself...early 1990's technology. Just my opinion however, as many people like it. I get better results with my $119 garmin and it's free lifetime maps and live traffic updates.

The system uses a USB for updates. As Badger already stated; it is 1990's Tech and not worth the money. You'll still get the back up camera; it's just a smaller image on the i-Mid.

$1500 for the NAV plus $150 for the update next year - Uh.. No. As Badgerland says, you can get a better GPS for less than the update. Tom Tom, Magellan, Garmin make good GPS, just don't get the $39 model.

I went for a test drive and looked at Navi and non-Navi...have to say, the Navi Dash looks better than the non-Navi.
