Accessory Help Needed - Roof Rack Recommendations and Cost

Hi,
I need to buy a roof rack for a 2010 CR-V.

I am looking for advice on whether or not to go with a Honda rack or providers that are showing for less.

There is a company called APG online that seems to have a good one for half the price.

Sounds too good to be true and wanted to see if anyone here knew some good choices and any info on cost and how difficult it is to put on yourself?

Honda has always been very proud of their accessories, and they prove it by the prices they ask. I bought my roof rack via eBay (can't remember the vendor) for somewhere around $100, if I remember correctly. No complaints whatsoever. If you're the slightest bit mechanically inclined, you'll have no problem installing the rack. There's not much to it.

What do you intend to use the racks for? There are some alternatives to Honda racks, but all depends on what you want to use them for. I carry bicycles and have Yakima racks for that; with the specific made adapters they fit perfectly on my 2011 'V.

Probably, luggage and Christmas trees. Occasional projects like lumber or something random.
