    pop-up camper

We just purchased a new 2007 EX AWD. It's mostly the womans car but I think it's great(not much stuff can fit in my SI).

Anyway we are into camping and are looking to get a small pop-up camper. Tents just aren't cutting it for rainy days anymore. I looked at a few that weight around 800-1100lbs.

My question is...Will I need to have brakes on the trailer? My family had a Jeep with a 4.0 and our camper weighed 2500lbs...never used brakes.

    Thanks

Look at the Fleetwood camping trailors (Element series) it is a Pop up. We are thinking about one. I know there is an Element owner that posted some pictures of his on the EOC forum.

I kinda hate to say this, but... have you read the owner's manual on what you can tow? Keep in mind that the Euro version has higher tow limits than the US version, but also says that trailer brakes may be in order for heavier weights.

Thanks for the replies. I will be buying a camper that weighs 1100lbs. The guy that had it before me pulled it with a dodge neon, so I think I should be okay.

    OK, that is no problem.
