Any differences between UK and US CR-V?

Hi everyone, first post here, so hopefully this is in the right forum. Anyways, I purchased a 2005 Honda CR-V yesterday, and noticed the first digits of the VIN is a 'SHS', I've never seen a VIN start with anything other than a '1'...looking into it looks like I have a CRV that was manufactured in England, apparently shipped over here at some point?

Anyways, does anyone know how common a UK CRV is over here in the states? and if theres any difference between the two I should know about whenever I go to order any parts(like having to specify a UK model)?

    Thanks for any info.

A large number of Generation 2 CR-Vs sold in the USA (2002 - 2006), were made in the UK. Reliability is about the same compared to Japan-built Vs. (VIN starting with J)

You need to watch out for the differences. Simple things like rear tail-light bulbs can trip you up.

Suggest Bookmarking one of the online dealer parts sites and searching for a part by VIN.

I heard they like to go to the wrong side of the road when driving, but I think that's just an ugly rumor.
2013 EX FWD 5AT - Mountain Air Metallic (wife considers it HER's)
2011 Accord Coupe V-6 EX-L w/NAV 5AT full HFP treatment installed at the factory (Honda Corp was 1st owner) Taffeta White (wife won't even ride in it now that we have the CR-V)

    2002 Accord V-6 EX-L 4-dr Taffeta White (sold)
2000 Ody EX Granite Green Metallic (sold)
1983 Accord EX 4-dr 5-spd Metallic Grey (sold)
    1980 Accord 2-dr 5-spd Sand Beige (sold)
(and at least 3 others that the kids have owned while they were at home)

Let's add the presence of trunk sorry boot mounted power outlet,
rear fog light(s) where the US has reflectors, panoramic roof prior to the new gen,
    Stick aka Manual transmission,
    2.2 diesel (think that's now 1.6),
    2.0 not 2.4 petrol/gas
    Garmin GPS on last gen.
    Bigger battery for diesel
    Different selection of genuine accessories
    No Xm outside US.
    Different colour exterior paints,

    Probably just a start.

Thanks for the info all, my car does pull to the left slightly, so it does seem like it has a pretty determined goal to go to the wrong side of the road as often as it can haha.

Your definition of "wrong" is kinda subjective, isn't it? LOL.

Rocky's points don't really apply to the USA gasoline powered cars. In Europe, the V was more of a high-end vehicle (as the Acrura RDX is here). Things like headlamp washers, rear fog lights, diesel mods, etc were market requirements.
