    Gen 2 differences/variations

    Hey Everyone,

My Dad has a 2006 EX(I had it for awhile)(90k miles). Today I just picked up a 2003 LX for myself(100k miles). I've notices quite a few differences in the two, I do all the maintenance on the '06 so if anyone had any input on vital differences on the '03 i'd appreciate it. Or just interesting features for fun.

Here's all of the differences i've noticed so far:

    Tail lights
    Head lights
    wheels
    grille
    front bumper

    2006:
    VSA Switch
    Larger Rear differential
    stereo/steering wheel controls

    2003:
    Bin under passenger seat

Some of the differences (steering wheel controls, rear privacy glass) were a result of trim levels. Others were product improvements (VSA required bigger brakes and wheels, fast-acting cam-lock diff required more fluid, AT was 5 speed vs 4 speed). Still others were a result of govmt mandates (passenger seat sensors for active airbags took up the space that the storage bin lived in).

    More power, too....

    That's why the 2005 - 2006 V is often called the Generation 2.5...

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about getting the steering wheel stereo controls from an EX and putting them into this. Along with an aftermarket head unit that supports that.
