I found a plastic cap on my driveway...

    2002 Honda CRV

Not sure where to put this....

I recently found a plastic cap near the entrance of my garage. I don't know if it belongs to my car, if it belongs to my neighbour's car, or if it got blew over to my driveway from several houses over. It's freaking cold this winter, so I don't want to crawl under my car to look around. I was hoping someone might be able to help identify this thing....

    Outer side:

    Inner side:

I tried getting some better pictures on my camera but they just didn't come out good (sorry) [edited with new pics]. It's approximately 9 cm in diameter, and there are some numbers/letter on the inner side. On the outer side there are imprints of arrows suggesting this cap should be turned counter clockwise.

I feel like this is a long shot....but if you know this cap belongs somewhere on a Honda CRV (or know for sure it does not), I'd appreciate it if you can let me know.

Hopefully these pics look clearer than the crappy ones I had up earlier.

    I know where it goes.

Open your rear door to the cargo area. Look at the top, on either side, where the tail lights plastic trim is black. There is likely a screw which is now exposed. That plastic cover is meant to go over the screw and snap in place.

    ^^ Justin,

Good guess but don't the screw caps you refer to have a screwdriver indentation? You can see it on the left side of #4.

I'd like to see more pictures, top view, with a ruler next to the part for scale.

Actually now reading the original description, I see it is mentioned that the diameter is 9 cm. That is much larger than the part that I have described. Sorry, I am out of ideas. I really don't know where this part comes from, and I have been all over my 2002 CRV for 10 years. I pretty much know every part on this car.

OMG, that does look like the cap I found. I googled for some more pics of the spool cover and one pic displayed exactly the counter clockwise arrows I see on the outer side of the cap I found.

Now that I think about it, my neighbour does have a weedeater....

Nice catch Blue12EXL! I think the mystery is solved!

I can still post some more pics with a tape measure beside it if anyone wants to confirm
