Hi all,
Its almost 3 months now, and the xm radio trial is about to run out. I was wondering what people thought about the service. Have you guys continued it? Its about $12 a month I believe. seems a bit on the steep side to me. any way or trick to get it for cheaper?
what do you guys think?

DO NOT pay 12.95 per month for XM satellite. It is not worth it, especially when you could get it for 77 dollars for the whole year !
Just contact customer service and ask for the ZWINBACK promotion.
Ask them to send you a billat home, if you give them your credit card info, you will be charged the full price automatically next year !
If you do not succeed the first time when contacting customer service, call back. Others have been reporting luck with the 2nd or 3rd call !
Reference: search xm on fatwallet.com or slickdeals.net

Do a SEARCH on the forum for XM discount or similar terms. This has been hashed over several times, with good results.
FYI
I just received a card from Honda saying I could start my XM subscription (when my 3-month free trial ends) at any time--even pay for it during the free trial period. The rates listed are XM's typical non-discounted fees.
So...I called XM this afternoon and told them I'd like the "$77.00 one-year subscription offer". The lady I spoke with said "no problem" and simply gave me the rate without any discount code or haggling. The rate takes effect in Feb 1st 2008, when my current 3-month trial ends--so I'm a happy camper.

Did anyone have to mention that you have a CRV? ...or do they even ask?

Nope. A gentleman intially answered the call and then transferred me to a woman (...said her name is "Cammie", when I asked). I told her I had bought a new car and was enjoying the free three-month trial period. I said I had received a letter from the manufacturer indicating that I could buy a one-year subscription that kicks-in immediately upon expiration of the trial period.
She asked for the XM Radio ID # (...which is pre-printed on Honda's letter to me). I said I wanted the "$77.00 one-year subscription offer". Gave her the Card # and she confirmed billing at 77.00 for 1-year, commencing Feb, 2008.
Also sent an email to me. Very polite and professional young lady, by the way.

I renewed XM last night even though I am not that wild about it. The DJ talking over the songs on the 60's channel really bothers
me. My free subscription was running out later this month and the rep called offering it for $12 per month. I mentioned the $77 year Zwinback promo and she agreed. I told her to bill me so I could actually see it in writing instead of giving her my credit card.
