I'm a newbee to the site and I haven't found a hit on here for San Diego CA but pardon me if it's already been posted.
Wanted this forum's opinion on an offer.
Honda CR-V 2007 EX 2WD auto, Glacier Blue/Gray Int, no nav
Roof rack
Running boards OR black side steps
Cargo cover
Trunk tray
Wheel locks
Splash guards
OTD $25,000 (my tax is for San Diego, California)
Any thoughts? I figure tax+licensing is about 9% here which equates to ~$2000 therefore the asking price is about ~$23000. Let me know if you know if anyone else who got a sweeter deal within the Southern Cal area before I accept the offer. Thanks to all.

I can share the price I paid was 21500 + tax and fees. That was with every thing but sidesteps. I hope that helps.

I wouldn't use OTD prices for comparison, just sticker, which should include destination charge only. Your other fees vary by state. I would also check these two links for accessory pricing:
http://www.accessories-honda.com/store/index.php/cPath/32_121
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/spaccessories.jsp?hidmodel=CR-V&hidyear=2007&hidtype=Y&hidrm=y
They're the two cheapest sites I've found for CRV accessories. Some dealers will really stick it to you. You do have to take installation costs into consideration-no big deal for wheel locks or splash guards, but more important for the spoiler or fog lights.

I was quoted 21,464 + 595 destination = 22,059 options not included except splash guard and wheel locks.
I also see a lot of post listing OTD prices with only doc/license fees but no taxes. Is that possible?

Yeah. Some states don't have new car sales tax. In my state (NC) the 3% tax on new car sales is actually a road use tax. Other states have no tax at all on the purchase and your taxes and fees after five years of owning a new car can be as little as $220 in Oregon, or as high as $2000+ in New Hampshire, where there's no up front tax but there are other taxes and fees over the 5 yr. period.

I've emailed all the local south Texas dealers through honda.com... They came back with $22845 - $23445 (msrp) on a 07 EX 2wd.
$21,500 is my target and I know a few people have got that. I'm willing to travel to pick it up. Can you give me a name or phone # of the salesman you worked with?
TIA.

Contact Chris Bond at Gunn Honda. He seems to offer a great service and great prices according to vtec.net.
I believe that this dealership is in Texas.
Also, you might want to try edmunds.com forums section, prices paid and buying experience to see how much people are paying in Texas.
I read there that California Honda dealer has the best deals in the US. (They sell for invoice)

This dealer was selling at invoice early last month. It was probably a sales promotion or something but at least it shows they'll deal. I'm not in TX (NC), but just this month I found about 6 dealers within 200 miles of me that would sell an EX-L at $1200 off MSRP. All of them were in metropolitan areas (Charlotte, Richmond, Norfolk/Va. Beach). The dealers in smaller towns would give little or nothing off.

That's right, you read that correctly.. All Cr-v's.. all trim levels.. invoice pricing. This is the deal of the year on Cr-v's! You will not find a price lower anywhere in Texas guaranteed. Email me if you are interested with the specific trim level you want and I can quote you a true invoice price with tax, title, and license.

This posting was on vtec.net: This posting was later retracted because it was actually posted by an impostor !!!!
So, I would ignore it !
I would still try Chris Bond at Gunn Honda.

OK - I've been all around south TX. I thought with the 08's just around the corner there could be some deals. Most are MSRP. Some knocking off $500.
Best deal i've found is Mike Patton in GA - $22156 for a EX 2wd.
Let me know if I can do better...

I assume your $22,156 quote doesn't include destination charge. If it did, you'd be at $310 over invoice (great price). There's $1600 difference between invoice and MSRP on a 2WD EX, so I'd be looking to get at least $1000 off. I'd email your best price ($694 off?) to dealers who gave you $500 off (one at a time) and see if any will beat it. You can't expect any dealers to give you a great price for a first quote. I started with a $500 discount and ended up with 6 dealers within 200 miles willing to give me $1200 off on an EX-L. I found the best deals in metro areas. Small town dealers would give me little or nothing off. Good luck!
