It just sort of popped out, about a week or so ago. no excessive force was applied or anything.

I went to the local Honda dealership today and, without really examining the broken one, the service tech said that I needed a new visor. When I asked him to point out or otherwise explain what it is that's broken, he couldn't tell me and I really felt like I was being hustled into buying a new visor without any real consideration of options.

In fact, when I went to the parts department, they told me that a new one would be $70, no they don't have one on site to compare to the broken one and, flat out, the guy behind the counter told me that anyone I ask will just try to sell me a new one "to get that cash from you, bro."

Consequently, I hopped on Google and found this forum, where I hoped to get a better idea of exactly why it keeps popping out of the roof port.

I've included 4 pix of the assembly to illustrate (2 with and 2 without labels), but it looks like the act of putting the fingers into the roof port and pushing the outer cowl UP (towards the inner cowl) causes the "fingers" to spread open and hold the visor in place.

Any suggestions?

Pretty bad that the service tech couldn't give you a reasonable explanation. Doesn't really look like anything broke off, but the picture is pretty fuzzy.
