Hi,
I just bought my first car (CRV 1998 5spd EX).
I would like some advice about take care of the paint and especially bumpers that seems to have been altered by the sun.

please what kind of product can I put on the bumper to better protect it from the sun?
I am looking for something not too expensive but works well.

Thank you for your help

I have two 2001 CR-V EXs. I use Turtle Wax F21 Super Protectant on the exterior plastic components (bumpers, door guards, splash guards). I spray the fluid on a clean rag and wipe it on the plastic. It restores the color and does not fade. I use it each time I wax the car. See attached picture for my results.

Good Luck,

Upton-CRV

I use good old Regular Armor All protectant wipes, works well and easy to apply.

The 1st gens actually did not have true "black" bumpers. They are a slightly grayer, charcoal color. many of the various products will seem to make the bumpers appear black though, at least for a while.
