Hi!
Just joined the board after I got my CRV -07 last week. It is the European spec model of the EX, and I'm loving it. I am however puzzled by some things and are hoping that you all could help me in solving them.
1: The big clock on the Navigator screen. I like it. However, if you turn on the navigator/audio mode, you cannot go back to it. Seems strange - there must be a "clock" mode also?
2: The navigator. I have paired my phone with the built in Bluetooth. Is it really so that I cannot call the numbers on the navigators POI without reading them out loud? I mean, aren't there any command one could give when having chosen for instance a hotel like "Call this hotel", instead of "Call 034-521-2323"? Kinda screws up the point I think....
3: The IPOD interface. What a bad solution. The Text To Speach (TTS) makes it bearable, but one just. Anyone have any information if they are about to upgrade the unit? I mean, if you use the CF card with MP3's on, you can browse them on the nav-screen, but not from your IPOD?
4: Anyone knows of any "DVD-Movie on nav screen" solutions that has been presented? I have been in contact with some US stores, but they all refer to this autumn at earliest.
Other than that, I am all giddy as a school boy (no, please, do NOT try to visualize me: It's 220lbs of Swedish fat skipping across my yard. It's not a pretty sight).
Best regards
Fredrik
Ps. Yes, I'm Swedish. I spell bad and have funny grammar. So there. :)

Sorry, but '220lbs of Swedish fat skipping across the yard' has left me speechless. And slightly ill.
I don't have a 2007 with navigation. So can't help you anyway. :)

Told you! Don't try to visualize it! It's like staring into the eyes of Medusa. Or just plain bad taste :)
Thanks anyway.

Don't worry about it. When I look into a mirror I don't exactly see a prized stallion. :D

You are mot getting many answers because bluetooth functionality is not available in North American nav units.
Also, the Ipod interface has been discontinued here in NA, I guess too many questions like yours have prompted them to rethink the interface....
For your other questions, I would check 8thcivic.com, the civic nav unit is similar to the CR-V, there is someone that sells a video interface for the Civic nav unit.
You can also check hondasuv.com for more CR-V owners...

I think I can answer question 1. I don't have my V in front of me, but I believe if you select the menu button, there are four choices for dimming of the nav screen (auto, day, night, clock). If you touch "clock", it will display the clock. Why it's part of the nav screen dimming choices, I have no idea, but I stumbled upon it a few times and have used it.
I have a U.S. nav, so I don't know if the menu structure is different on the navs in other countries.
Good luck with getting answers to your other questions.

I've tried that, but I only have three options. Bright, Dimmed and black. Not the clock. Damn it! I WANT MY CLOCK!

Hi Freppa,
my dad bought himself a 2007 CR-V, got delivered last week, this week we got him a new phone. Now we want to pair the phone to the bluetooth in the car.
I spend most of Sunday afternoon trying to figure out where you enable the bluetooth in the car, I went through all menu options in the navigation system as I suspect it must be hidden somewhere there, no luck so far.
Can you point me in the right direction ? Where do I find a menu or button to enable the bluetooth for the car ?
Thanks for you help,
Cheers,
Jacky

Hi Jacky.
No problem. It's a bit tricky because it can be done two ways depending on your phone. I had to use both ways when pairing my wifes and mine to the car.
Example 1: Straight pairing.
1: Enable bluetooth on your mobile phone. Make sure you have the bluetooth "visible to other units"
2: Press the cars phone button. Say "System Setup".
3: Say "Pair"
4: Follow the instructions, i.e. give a code to the car and wait for it to find your mobile phone.
5: The mobile phone will ask you for the code under step four. Guess what? ;)
6: All done. Enjoy.
Example 2: Pairing with phone lookup.
This seems to be more common way to pair the phones. Follow the above instructions until number 4.
5: When the car starts to look for your phone, go into your phones bluetooth and do a search for Bluetooth. You will probably find "Honda HFT". Enable that. The phone will now ask for the code. Do it. For the love of God, just do it! :D
6: All done. Enjoy.
edit: Of course, you have to make sure you have bluetooth in your car - as you are from Europe, I assume it's enabled. The button for controlling Bluetooth is on the left side of the steeringwheel.
Rrbhokies: I stand corrected. You were right. The clock can be activated via the menu. But it sucks that it isn't available via a simple push of a button or voice command.
