I've got a lead on a Navi head unit thats FS. Does anyone know what's involved in fitting a factory Honda Navigation system into an EX?

Obviously there's the back up camera that needs to be installed and wired. Is the head unit plug and play and is there a seperate disc drive for the maps or are they pre-loaded per my Garmin?

Can it be done??

thanks,

I can't help with details, but certainly it can be done. The EX-L w/Nav is just an EX with addtional features added on.

Unless you get it at a real steal of a price, I think you could do much bewtter with an aftermarket system.

I believe the new Civic has a very similar if not the exact same navigation unit as the CR-V. One guy on 8thcivic.com did a retrofit on his Civic Si. It is certainly not plug and play. You're gonna have to cut and splice wires.

Does anyone know for sure if the wiring harness needs to be replaced inorder to retro fit the Nav headunit like in the 06 civic si? Has anyone tried this in an 07/08 crv yet?

Has anyone tried this in an 07/08 crv yet?You would be looking at $2000+, maybe $3,000. With the number of comments about updated DVD's, etc. why not just get an aftermarket unit, save a bunch of money and get something that works even better?
