I am (as other’s are) disappointed with the storage in the CRV EX. There is not much room to put a first aid kit, maps or other safety equipment that I like to have in vehicle. The little storage holes in the drivers compartment are for the most part useless to me. Any one know if you can put a storage tray like is under the passenger seat under the driver seat. I have looked at a number of web sites and have not seen these trays offered as accessories. I would also like to buy the center consoled that comes in the EX L and replace the collapsible tray that is between the seats now. Those consoles do not seem to be offered at any of the accessories sites I have looked at either. I have not started a salvage yard search yet.
That was the deciding factor in going EX-L for me, the center console. I could not deal with that little flip down tray and lack of storage.
Sure you can add one, but I didn't want to hassle and was looking for yet another reason to get the EX-L.
My first aid kit and recovery strap is under the rear cargo floor with my spare, I put it in a large ziplock bag and wrapped it in a towel to avoid rattles. There is plenty of room under there.

2RedVs (I think) posted a print in another thread of the console in the EX-L. It had a lot of parts and looked like a nightmare to install.
I don't belive the under seat tray will work on the driver side. I seem remember that there are some sort of sensors under there, and I think there is a rather large lump in the floor.
What do you mean the front storage holes are useless? We store our collection of antique watch sets in those compartments. You can store paper clips, tie tacks, Rollaids or Tums, and several watch batteries. But you can't store all those things at the same time. We stored a vitamin pill in one of the compartments. There is plenty room for individual staples, or how about the door springs off of 3.5" floppy disks.
What they should do is make the door handles hollow with latch covers. You could store a 250 piece tool set between the 4 of them.

There is some space under the driver's seat. Haven't measured it, but I've had a few items slide/roll under the seat from the back seat floor and was surprised by how much space there was.

What was I thinking? Space for all that important stuff and I missed it.

Black Pearl. You're a riot. Your posts always make my day. I love your suggestion for the door handles. :)

Thanks for the compliment!

I was wrong about the seats and the lumpiness of the floor. I was at work and going by memory. I just checked the two seats and they seem identical. There is a lump but the passenger side has a lump also. It looks like you could get a tray under there. Might be interested in one myself if you find something that works.
