View Full Version : CR-V 2007 mp3 compact flash card.
I'm planning til install a CF-card in the music-player in my CR-V 2007 (with navigation from Honda/Alpine.)
Anyone know if there is a list of supported CF-cards and CF-to-PCcard-adapters available? Are there limitations on storage size?
Tested an eMagic PC-card Adapter for Compactflash (type I/II), with a 2048MB crucial Compact Flash Card. Worked just fine!

I actually use a SanDisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adapter with a 4GB SimpleTech SD Memory card installed. It actually works quite well and I am able to get almost a full 4 gigs on the card.

Hi Djacks,
On the Sandisk web site, it is said that the SanDisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adapter only supports SD memory cards up to 1 GB.

I am surprised by this statement and then I saw your message telling that you use a 4 GB SD card.
I just wanted to have your confirmation that a 4 GB SD card works on the SanDisk 6-in-1 PC Card Adapter.
Thanks

I bought one of these from ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110178803459&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=110154124148&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget) for UK Sterling £10 delivered, I think the model is Buffalo MCR-5A, and was a little worried wouldn't work.
Got my CR-V yesterday and it works a treat !! I also bought the cheapest 2GB Sandisk SD card I could buy too (approx £11 UK Sterling) and filled it up with MP3 files.
All works a treat, and I'm a little pleased with myself that I got this for around 20 quid !! (40 bucks)
I just bought a 4GB Micro Drive from Circuit City for $25 US. I bought a SanDisk Compact Flash PC Card Adapter which i found out after the fact did not support Micro Drives. I went online and ordered a Micro Drive PC Card Adapter and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully everything will work as planned. Ill post back with results.
For now Im using the Sandisk Card Reader and 1GB Sandisk CF Card from my Digital Rebel XT.
On another note it's a shame the Nav doesnt display album art.
The 4GB Hitachi Micro Drive works just fine. Finally got some music on it and it works great! Much better than fumbling with my ipod while im driving trying to find the song i want. Really wish there was a better interface for the ipod. What a waste of a screen.
Best looking solution ive found so far seems to be the Alpine iPod interface w/Bluetooth.

Hi Jalo
In your last posting you mentioned that you have Alpine iPod interface w/Bluetooth. What is this ? How pain to install in CRV with navi models? Does that work good ?

When you insert the card and start the car (or just turn on the radio) it takes a little while as the system reads the card. Have you tried just waiting a bit to see if it becomes active again? Try waiting a few minutes. This is also why using a card with faster I/O is a little better.
Or, I suppose you could learn Japanese :).
Good luck!
Larry.
