I live in rural southeastern PA where the roads are AWFUL!!!! My '99 CRV has taken a beating on gravel roads, rutted driveways and potholes.. It's gotten me safely home through ice and snow. I must admit, I see myself coming and going because I have a silver CRV and it seems like they're everywhere. I love it, though, and I'd get another one.

My 99 (cause the wife won't let me drive her 04 much for work) has been down so many mud/dirt roads, snow storm, flooded areas, etc. and just keeps on going. The Energizer V.

Hello I just signed up to the forum.
I live the the northern part of the Pocono Mountains. As you may imagine the roads up here are not great either! My 2004 CR-V 4WD has never let me down. I have never been stuck. It is a great car. It just turned 100K with only one problem. The transmission selctor switch broke at 30K.It was fixed under warrenty and all was well.
I agree I do see alot of them around. This is my 3rd Honda, my family has owned 10 or so. I am a Honda "lifer":)
As much as I love the car, I don't consider it to be a truck...I reminds me more of a station wagon or a Civic on steroids:D...this is a good thing!
Thanks for reading and I look forword to being a member of the CR-V forum.

Welcome to the club. I assume you are a citizen of our fair Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania. Lousy roads, huh?

We, in western Pa, always held the belief that Penn Dot spent all the money in the eastern end of the state. So I guess the question is does anyone in our fair commonwealth have good roads?

Being a Honda newbie, I am glad to read your comments, and hope that my 07 holds up as well. Welcome to the club and we will be looking forward to your posts.

humm...that's funny we always thought Penndot spent more in the western end:confused:
The 07 is a nice vehicle. It is avalible in my favortie color combo Nighthawk Black with an Ivory interior. My 04 is black with a black int...I couldn't get Ivory.

The whole state believes that Penn Dot spends money elsewhere, so we all have crappy roads. At least they are egalitarian.

We got an 07 Nighthawk Black Pearl, with a black interior. The ivory looks nice but I was afraid it would get dirty.

Sounds like a nice color combo. I really like the Pittsburg/western PA area. I have not been there in quite some time. I used to go camping at Cooks Forest. I would sleep in the back of my 91 Integra...:o I had friends in Pittsburg. It is a cool town. Under rated in my opinion.

Have you had any winter weather experiences in your 07?

We bought our 04 in Sept of 04. That winter I was caught in a major storm. Me being the adventourus type decided to test out the AWD. I drove to the steepest hill I could find and stopped at the bottom. With about 1/2 a foot of snow on the ground I hit the gas...The CR-V responded with no problem. It drove up the hill like it was a summer day:) ...That recomfirmed my faith in Honda...

I think you like Pittsburgh better than I do. It was rated the most livable city in the US--by people who don't live here. Hate the place actually.

No, I got it in June and I hope to never find out if the 4WD works well. Not a real fan of snow, but I am glad to hear that they go good. Thanks for the info.

I live in the suburban Philadelphia area. The roads here on the east side stink too. So don't feel too slighted. Fast Eddie (Rendell) needs that PennDOT money to support SEPTA and all his other back door relationships

(not to get on PA politics).

Penn Dot and the Pennsylvania Turnpike have been rotten to core for as long as I remember, spanning both Republican and Democratic governors.
