Hello Group,
I am the proud father of a 2007 ex-l w/ navi. I read in the owners manual that metallic window tint could seriously affect the effectiveness of the gps antenna, located under the dash. Do any of you with tinted windows have any issues or problems?

The key word is "metallic".
You do not have "metallic" tint.

That would be a cheapie, DIY type tint that looks like #$%^.

Most after market tint, like what I am looking at is of "metallic" nature

I know nothing about Honda's Nav so take my comments with a grain of salt. My Garmin GPS has an external antenna jack and Garmin (and others) sell an external antenna for placement of the GPS in an interior of a boat that may not have a clear sight of the sky. But I remember another use was for cars with metalic tinted windows.

I doubt that you are going to want to drive around with a GPS antenna lead draped through a window (maybe you could stick it through that torn gasket). But if the nav system has the external input (doubtful) perhaps you can get a permanently mounted antenna installed. If no jack, I wonder if anyone makes some sort of repeater?

You have an EXL with Navi - You already have tinted windows. In any event, I have after-market tinted windows on my 99 LX and factory tint on my 04 EX. My older Garmin GPS works just fine sitting on the passenger front seat or even in the center console. I don't need nor want to have it stuck up on the dash. Too much clutter.

yes, the windows are factory tinted, but I always get after market limo tint all the way around on my cars. This will be the first car I can actually see out of at night when backing up thanks to the rear-view camera. That will be nice for a change. The children in my neighborhood can sleep a little better knowing that!:D

Hi, I'm new here. I just traded my '04 Element for a '07 EX-L w/nav.

I just had my windows limo tinted over the factory glass for the back 5 windows and the front 2 with 20% and I do not have any problem nor have I heard of this problem.

Out here in Nevada, almost every car on the road is custom tinted due to the intense heat and no one I know with cars with navi, etc have a problem.
