A few new/newly designed vehicles are coming that may cut into new CRV sales. I wanted to gage everyone's opinion on if you would entertain the idea of trading in your CRV on these newbies. Also, if anyone actually test drives one of them, let us know how it compares to the CRV
1) Nissan Rogue. More power, better performance than the 07 V, similar price. More amorphic (less classical) styling than the V.
2) Scion xB. Much more power than previous model, and more than 07 V. Better performer, but no AWD option at this time. Styling isn't as "in-your-face" as previous model. Some don't consider it in the same class, but shoppers will no doubt opt for a cheaper more powerful version of the V.
3) VW Tiguen (I believe is how it's spelled - not Toureg). US gets a 1.8li Turbo, power should be more than the 07V (those little 1.8s can put out the torque), but interior styling is lack luster, as is VQs recent quality & reliability. Pricing should be more than a base V, but with a turbo engine, will it be worth it?
Outside the US, many places will get a supercharged AND turbo charged engine. How will that compare to the V diesel?

I doubt I would seriously consider trading the V unless a whole bunch of unreliability set in. If I was still in the market I would check out the Rogue. But I doubt that I would take it over the V. I had it in my mind that I was buying a Honda this time. Not exactly the way to buy a car but we all have our foibles.

1. No Nissan's for me. The looks are similar to the 3rd gen V but I do not want to be a guinea pig for the CVT. Maybe a few years down the road when the CVT gets proven to be reliable. If a turbo-diesel was available, I might think about it.

2. Scion. No freakin' way. UGLY enough to beat it with a stick.

3. I almost bought a VW Jetta wagon diesel instead of the 04 V, but dealer could not locate the color combo we wanted.

Honda has greatly missed a huge opportunity in that they did not have the diesel ready for the US. Now, by the time they come out with it, the competition will have them as well.

I'll check the Rogue out when our dealers get them. It's been available in other countries under a different name. Would have no concerns buying a Nissan. Not interested in the others.
