Hello everyone,
New to this forum and am glad there’s a great site for fellow CR-V owners. I’m looking to upgrade my mom’s 1998 CR-V steel wheels to 2002 CR-V alloy wheels. I know people have posted similar questions, however I just want to make sure before proceeding to pay $450 for the set. Will the 2002 CR-V wheels fit my mom’s 1998 CR-V without any problems? Can I use the existing lug nuts on the alloys? And finally what tire size do I use for the 2002 CR-V alloys. I’m providing pics of the existing 98’s & 2002 upgrades. Please feel free to leave technical details, offset, bolt patern etc.
Thanks

Unless there is some reason why you absolutely have to have the factory alloys, go to tirerack.com and look at the wheels they have available. They even have a cool graphic that will let you see your vehicle (even in your color) with the various wheels on it. I had purchased a set of wheels and tires for my 99 for just over $500 which included mounting, balancing and shipping. I could not beat that anywhere locally.

Thanks for the reply. Tirerack for me would be too expensive as shipping/customs charges for Canada is way to expensive, also I'm looking for stock honda alloys, because I want to keep the CR-V simple and less flashy, since its my moms car. I don't wont people eyeing my moms CR-V after putting aftermarket rims.
Thanks

ThanksSorry. No one knows you are in Canada (where tirerack.com doesn't ship) since you had not filled out your profile with your location. :)
However, tirerack is a good source to let you see what wheels look good on your vehicle. I got a rather basic wheel ($70 each) that isn't flashy and handles snow/salt/corrosion well.

The 2002 alloys will work on your 1998 Crv will no problems. Your stock wheel nuts will be fine to mount the alloys with.

Yes. And standard tire size is 205/70R15 for both years.

They will fit just fine including the lug nuts. I have previously installed the wife's 04 EX alloys on my 99. It looked good. I just would not spend that much for wheels.
