I was surprised that this 4 cylinder SUV had so much pep but I have posted some nice speeds on my way home from school. I have had the car a week and I topped out at 93 by accident. The car feels very light and agile enough that you don't even realize how fast you are going until you hit crazy speeds It smoked my old V6. THe funny thing is the car handles alright at 50-60 but really performs well at 70+ I mean at 93 the car felt pretty stable for an SUV no real lift or jaunts I have felt from other suvs at 70. Great job honda making an SUV that handles great but now I am trying to keep it low stupid gas prices.

Oh yeah, what's the price of petrol in the US?
Here in England we pay £4.30 a gallon (US$8.71)
Ok so it's an Imperial gallon which is 4.54 litres as opposed to a US gallon being 3.78 litres, so a US gallon would cost £3.58 = US$7.25
It's 94.9pence a litre = US$1.92

CR-V = 180 km/h = 110 mph downhill.
Prelude = Well past 240 km/h = 150 mph.

Don't forget that the CR-V speedo's read HIGH, meaning that it reads faster than you are really going. It gets worse the faster you go.

Dont all speedo's read high I mean for liability causes and to make you think the car is going faster I don't know but 95 on that speedo is fast enough for me, but I have to admit the car handled pretty well on a tough highway it has some fast portions and some cornery portions but the CR-V handled them really nice for an SUV.

well touched a little over 100 about 105 and the car really didn't want to. It gets to and around 90 fine but when you cross to 100 it takes forever I wonder what my next fillups going to be :o

I know it costs a ton to have a car in Europe I mean a base model Rav 4 is almost 40 grand USD (19095 GBP) plus fuel is a million dollars albeit you guys have much higher octane.

95 octane regular : 1.24 euros = 1.79 U$
100 octane super : 1.48 euros = 2.14 U$

yeap good ole glendale - bout 2 blocks up from the Atlas mall... I'm in Orlando right now but visit home as much as i can, since all my friends and family still live there... Was planning on moving back in Feb but plans got pushed back... hope to be home by the summer... at least i'll miss the winter- altho i do miss the cold!! good ole forest hills... used to work at the old ctown over on yellowstone like 10 years ago had a lot of friends over there myself....

but anyway i know FL prices are cheaper then NY by 10-20 cents at times, but i haven't seen gas under 2.50 in awhile down here... I miss the days when I would pay .75 cents for a gallon.... i guess it'll never go down to that ever again huh?!

Tell me about it!!
Since posting that petrol prices have gone up AGAIN!!
Regular Unleaded (95 octane)= 98.9 pence per litre ($2.04-ish)
Super Unleaded (100 octane)= 101.9 pence per litre ($2.12-ish)

Experts are now warning us to expect the price of crude oil to rise due to seasonal demands so we can expect petrol to go up again and then there's the budget in April next year so no doubt it'll rise even more

Ok so when I get a gallon I do get 4.52 litres whereas you guys get 3.75 to a gallon, but given the choice I'd be happy to pay US price for a US gallon!!

You are admitting you are speeding on a public forum. You need to get your act together. Speeding is for race tracks. If you kill or injure someone there is a public record of your admitting speeding. Not smart, grow up, slow up before your pushing daisies before your time.

Ohh big deal you know nothing abou the circumstances first off it was an empty highwy on a nice clear day with good sunlight but no glare I saw 2 other people on that road in about an hour and it was straight a hell plus for most of the road I was gong 5 over the limit for one section I buried it and once I hit over 100 i let off the gas and got to the limit. Please don't give me the speed kills garbage lok at the NMA website a lot of deaths are a result of many other things than speeding in fact there are very few deaths related to speed, look at the statistics the Autobahn is one of the safest roads in the world. Improper lane courtesy, people that go 20 below the speed limit, people who eat while driving, people on the phone, people who have underinflated tires, cars with worn out brakes, drivers who don't check blindspots, and tailgaters probably cause more accidents than just speed alone. I wasn't going throughtraffic like the idiots you see on most highways there was no one around. Plus why would I ever bring a CR-V to a track racing isn't just about speed I prefer cornering and the CR-V is a bit of aheavy hector in the coners in fact I bet you that there are more accidents with people over estimating the cornering abilities on offramps in SUVs than one guy on an empty highway who was going quick for a few moments. Uhh ohh I made a bet you gonna call the cops?

Try that line in court. If you like racing get involved in the sport. Go to Watkins Glenn, Limerock,or your local stock car races. But,stay off the roads, to be blunt grow up!

But,stay off the roads, to be blunt grow up!I am not in court a lot of my friends are cops and they tell me most speed limits are revenue generators. And if I got a ticket I would pay it and deal with the consequences. Again you don't get the point I tested top speed on an empty road that was straight and I was at no point even close to out of control. You don't know how I drive or my driving patterns 90% of the time I drive around the limit and I never speed in towns just once or twice I opened it up big deal. I am sure you never speed right? Also there are no tracks near me and track time involves special car rentals and tons of $$$. I am ure you are a big hypocrite, jus tbecause I touch 100 I am public enemy #1 the truth is you probably speed every day and not know it you probably talk on the phone and eat while driving, I am a safe driver I opened it up in a safe spot with 4 empty lanes ass opposed to people who speed a little in heavy traffic don't give me grief because I can actually drive.

If you drive as fast as you write ,and as sloppy, you are headed to an early death. 6000 teenagers ,and since your 20 and still wet behind the ears, die every year due to speeding and thinking they are indestructable. If you go to the morgue and visit one after a car accident you might begin to understand what speed does when cars crash. Look, I love you youngins, I have two 20 year old Grandsons and don't want them killing themselves or others just because they like speeding. Get your excitement elsewhere not on the road.

OK you two. :(

Quit with the insults. This isn't going anywhere meaningful.

Play nice and be civil or I will impose infractions on both of you.

Keep the discussion to the topic at hand - top speed, remembering that many of the V's sold around the world have top-speed limiters anyway and high speeds are legal in some countries.

Get your excitement elsewhere not on the road.Alright I am going to make this quick as possible. First I don't drive 100 mph daily I have done it TWICE! Secondly I obey the speed limit and drive safely checking blind spots not tailgating and obeying proper lane courtesy. Since you can’t get it through that I don't drive like a maniac daily I advise you to ignore what I write as I will ignore what you write this is the last time I will respond to you go attack others I am not listening grandpa.

Here in germany it is legal to drive as fast as you can on the autoban !!!!
And the CRV wont go pass 180 km/h. While all the BMW's and AUDI's and MERCEDES go pass you well over 230 Km/H

It is legal as long as the quote on your tire is higher than the speed you are driving. :D

I can tell you right now the top speed is 108Mph on a straight away. I got that off my GPS Radar Detector so thats the true top speed. I found your debate about speeding quite funny, I myself was in the same situation when I hit 108mph. I was headed south down I-55 toward ISU from Chicago and there were very few cars. You know whats strange the whole way there I only passed one cop. The radar didn't pick up a hint of another cop, they need to patrol that Interstate more because everyone was doing 85 the whole time.

I have traveled that stretch of I55 more than you could imagine. I commuted from near Peoria to the Loop for 3 days a week for 2 years. Between mile marker 217 and about 240 - there just ain't nothin' there. Then I would take rt 17 West over to rt 29. Same deal, but 2 lane.

Can't speed in New York over 70 MPH. Over 6000 teenagers killed each year in US driving mostly to fast , some texting, some distracted by others in car, some on cell phone, some still think they are playing with their X-BOX. Now they're pushing daisies. We speed in US on Race tracks and out in the desert.
