Skiing affects so many life decisions - here we are driving CRV's
I'm lucky enough to live in CO and ski about 30 days a season being a weekend warrior. There are about 10 resorts within 2 hours of the Denver area.
Everyone out there please go skiing - it puts food on my table - I work at Spyder.

Lucky man living in CO MY buddy is at airforce academy he is insane now, he came to new york in Jan. and said the CO conditions were way better the first day the mountains opened. I get 20 days but I do it for free with this ski bus program so It saves me a ton of money and I get to do it on my shedule all I have to do is hand out passes and tell people when we show up at the mountain no payng for gas or tickets.

have you try hunter mountaint? once you go there you won't want to any other sky mountain....if you're good try the black diamond. but think it twice before go to the double black diamond...it is very... very steep... it is almonst straight down

Hunter is overrated and way too crowded if you want a good spot in NY try Belleayre its empty and split in half the top is more advanced and the lower is greens which means I don't have to deal with people who aren't skilled enough don't mess about on black diamonds and scrape all the snow off. Hunter isn't that difficult they have some steeps but it's primarily ice and not tough you just have to be comfortable with the speed. I ride a ton of mountains in NY and Vermont Hunter is very popular with the 20's crowd because of the bars but trust me visit some of the lesser known mountains Belleayre, Catamount (Great Park and no tolls). Vermont has great mountains especially Okemo which has made some strides, and Killington which is one of the best east coast hills I have ever ridden.

Used to ski at Glenshee...
Glenshee Ski Centre (http://www.ski-glenshee.co.uk/)
There is just no snow in Scotland now, or if there is snow everything grinds to a halt then IF everything gets moving with snow still on the ground, In the morning the Slopes are icy and patchy and the uplifts are packed and in the afternoon the slopes are really patchy and it's slushy in places and the uplifts are still busy... If pulling a sicky to get off work was no problem you might manage 3-5 days a year. It's basically finished. Unless you count Hillend, Europe’s largest dry skis slope (400m) which I've done in five turns! (School race team... But I'll never go back to straight edge skis)
Managed to get out to Lake Tahoe, CA a few years ago which was very very good 5.5 mile long and super wide runs hehehehe The double diamonds were interesting, depending on how chewed up they were. (If you want a real challenge try an icy, patchy, mogul infested, Scottish black run)
