In other words, can I somehow move the support bars forward or back? The back rail looks like it has slots, but I don't see how to do it if it's even possible. Don't see it addressed in the owner's manual either. Thanks.

The roof rack cross bars are mounted in a fixed position and cannnot be adjusted unfortunately.
