I just found the CRV owners club from a link on the Ridgeline Owners club. I had been planning (dreaming) to purchase a Ridgeline to replace my Tacoma but decided to keep the old (and trusty) Taco and get a CRV as my daily driver. My CRV is an 06 Nighthawk Black EX AWD Auto ...
I've added a couple of aftermarket accessories that I really like how they are working and thought I would share one for what it's worth!
I often cartop a canoes and wanted a rack that could carry more than one if needed. The factory rack is too narrow to accommodate so I purchased a Yakima setup that mounts in the factory rack locations. Yakima provides 'landing pads" that attach to the roof with screws in the factory locations and the rack towers then drop in to the landing pads and lock in place with a key lock. They fit great, can be easily removed (avoid wind noise when not needed), can accept a wide range of accessories and best of all, cost less than the factory rack. I installed in less than 15 min and can remove / re-install in only a couple of min. Check out the Yakima set-up before you get a factory rack...
I'll share some of the other accessories I've added and maybe some pics later.

Sounds good. Thanks.
I've got a Yakima rack and fairing on my Element and we love it. Got mine from ORS Racks Direct (http://www.orsracksdirect.com). Tell them I sent you if you need anything.

I also got mine at OSR. They had a 10% off sale at the time. They provided great service.
I've also bought several items from H&A and have had a similarly good experience. I've added factory fog lights, hitch and wiring harness, windshield shade and cargo tray. Their prices really beat the dealer prices and they ship quickly.
Another good place to get both Ridgeline and CRV accessories is Weathertech (www.weathertech.com). I've purchased their brand of window vents that install in the window frame without tape. They fit good and I've not experienced any issues with the auto-up window functions. I also got their floor liners to catch all the muck I put in the CRV. Another good purchase.
I got links to these vendors from the Ridgeline site which I think is terrific......

I know this is an older thread, but could you share which Yakima landing pads and rack towers you used in your setup? Thanks!

For my 06 CRV, I'm using the Yakima Control Tower (#8000214) and Landing Pad #8 (#8000228) and 48" Crossbars (#8000408). I've also got a set of 78" crossbars (#8000411) which I use when cartopping 2 canoes.
I've watched for the Control Towers on E-Bay and have seen them go for $50-$60 plus shipping as compared to $95 retail....
They install easily and can be removed in a couple of minutes.....

DewaltDakota,
I just noticed that your CRV is an 07. I have not yet seen landing pads for the 07's on the Yakima Fit Guide sites. It's got to be just a matter of time before they have a landing pad.......
If you can hang on until Yakima makes one, you will like it much better than the permanent mount factory set-up..

I email yakima to see when they expected to have a fitment for the 07 CRV and was told it would not be out until the Fall of 07. They did say that you could use a window mount setup and Q towers. That is not the direction I want to go so I am gond to test fit the 2006 fitment to see if it will work. Hopefully my buddy has the 06 fitment on the rack at his bike shop. if not I will be SOL.
As posted elswwhere here is yakima respoince:
We do not have a rack for that vehicle that fits into the factory mounting points yet. Honda changed the design for 2007, so we need to come up with a different attachment and don't expect to have that available until this fall.
We do however, have a way of putting Yakima bars on that vehicle using our Q Tower system. You would need 1 set of 4 Q Towers, 1 pair of Q-99 clips, 1 pair of Q-131 clips, and a minimum of 58" crossbar. This system will hold up to 125 lbs., and clip directly into the door frame of the vehicle.

Just tried the Q-towers and clips on my '07 CR-V. Doesn't seem feasible. The clips don't fit the door correctly and the towers have to mount on the side of the vehicle instead of the roof due to the large distance (6") between the top of the rear door and the roof. I don’t want a jury-rigged setup for my pricey, Kevlar canoe on my shiny, new vehicle.
Has anyone tried the '06 fitment on the factory rack mounts? Any word on when Yakima will have that option for the ’07.

Hi,
Have a question, have anyone tried a factory rack to transport canoe (2007 model)? The concern is that the distance between bars is kind of small.

Hello,
I spoke to Thule today (7/13/07) and they confirmed that the "TK-15" fitment kit (foot/adaptor) is incorrect and will not be physical product contrary to the paper fitment guides. I was told that they will have a solution for the 2007 CRV's in August as it is in final test with the R&D department.
Apparently they had the TK-15 lined up for US based vehicles however they have since recinded this product due to fitment issues with certain other products.
Hope this helps.
