Hey all, im sure you've seen me in and out for awhile, especially after I made my how to replace your cabin AC Filters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8e3oomo4ow

I have myself a situation that i've been stuck in for months, and I'm wondering what your guys opinions, suggestions would be.

I'll start at the very beginning. Last June, I purchased a great shape 04 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe from my good friend at a local car lot on cosignment for my 03 WRX. At last, my dream car was mine after getting a new job earlier that year and able to afford it!. I loved it totally until me and the girlfriend went on road trip to the coast in August that year. The car drove wonderfully, but we had the entire car packed with crap for the trip, and it was a real pain to take stuff in and out of the car, especially the rear seats which needed to be folded down.

Seeings how me and the girlfriend were going to travel more in the future, I started to ponder wether my purchase was a real good idea. I pondered for months on selling/trading the Accord for something alot more practical for me and the girlfriend for now and years down the road.

I was pretty much set on a New or used CR-V. I did my research, and I only wanted a CR-V, nothing else from Toyota or Subaru. Im a Honda bitch, what can I say.

Anyhoo, flash forward to April of this year, after getting in a fender bender from some asshat in parking lot and ruining my Accord's bender, and not having any luck of getting a 05-06 EX CR-V, I started to wonder wether it was going to happen. Amazing, mid April my friend found a really good shape 05 CRV with 21k miles in a nearby town in my state. It was perfect and exactly what I was looking for, color, options, cleanliness and condition.

So once again I cosigned for the CR-V and gave the Accord to my friend who took out an extra amountto pay for the Accord bumper repairs and put that on the CR-V loan. We managed to get a 60 day grace period for the credit union. I thought it couldn't be more perfect, the spring/summer season was under way, my car was in great shape, he is a very well known and liked used car dealer and my previous cosighments sold no problem, I thought it was a done deal.

Flash forward to now. Its been a fustrating several months. The Accord garnered little attention, even during the highlights of the summer season. It sat, and sat with very few serious buyers. We tried lowering the price, moving it around the lot, advertising it in a big used car buyers magazine my city publishes twice a month, but we just got no where. I was starting to really concerned around July, and was beginning to wonder if my CR-V was gonna have to go by by, which I hated the thought as I absolutely love it, its the perfect "Urban Jungle" vehicle.

Sadly, I had to make my first double car/insurance payment at that time and thats when I decided that this was no longer worth the fustrating, and took my Accord back, much to my dissapointment and gave the CR-V back to the car lot. That was a month ago, and though it attracted interest when it first arrived, especially with the coming winter, its now hardly attracted little attention. My friend gets concerned when cars sit to long on a lot and people begin to wonder "Whats wrong with that car?"

Now im faced with a dilemna. Even though, my finacial situation enables me to pay for both vehicles if I have to, I don't consider this my best option but I'm left with several decisions that have been driving my mind crazy. Both cars have their pluses and minuses, but I really love the CR-V but I dunno how far im willing to go to keep it.

I already took out a $1000 loan last month, to pay off the equity difference in the CR-V because I had a strong buyer that was offering me less then I wanted, but then the asshat backed out at the last minute so now I have ANOTHER loan to pay off.

At the same time, I already paid for the plates for the CR-V which is over $300 in my state, so I'm mad for having to pay for plates AGAIN for the Accord if it comes to it. I've refinanced the Accord at another credit union last month to buy me some more time before double payments, but its not looking good.

As far as im concerned, heres been my options in my head...

A. Do I give up, give one of the cars back to the bank, take a credit score hit and live with the results for years down the road just to move on with my life?

B. Do I just eat double payments and sell the CR-V eventually, which is the more likely car to sell at this time of year but then hate myself for giving up the car I want that will last me years down the road?

C. Eat double car payments and do whatever I can to sell my Accord which
could go into next year and then maybe hate myself for being stubborn and wasting all that money?

D. Just realize their just damn cars, sell whatever I can fastest and realize probably something cooler will come out from Honda years down the road and I'll want that more and wish I didn't waste so much time/money for this CR-V

I dreamt of owning two cars sometime down the road, just didn't think i'd be doing it at 27. Grrrrrr, I dunno what to do.

Wow. You have a dilemma all right.
How much are you trying to sell the Accord for? The CR-V? Don't go by Kelly Blue Book - It is full of ####. Instead, look at the current Black Book prices. Black Book uses actual (not wild guesses like KBB) selling prices from dealers and state sales tax receipts. I think KBB simply uses advertised prices from newspapers to get their inflated amounts.

Look at one of those car buying places they usually will give you a way better price than a dealer and you would make more than doing a private sale plus quotes usually take 20 minutes and you can take it or leave it but if you want the money you just take it and they handle all of it. The one near me is called carcash think but look online I have never done it but I have known peope who swear it is a godsend. Good Luck

WOW! you are in quite a pickle. Here is an idea that I had, and I don't know if this is even feasible or not so let us know. Right now you have 2 cars and 1 girlfriend, right? Well, what is her status on her vehicle. Is it paid off? How much longer does she have on her payments? Does she like one or the other vehicles better(Accord or CR-V). Could she sell whatever she is currently driving and take over the payments of 1 of the 2 vehicles? Would she be willing to do this?
Also, have you considered lowering your asking price on 1 or both of the vehicles so you can more easily move one or both and take your losses and move forward?
I'd be willing to bet there is a very high probability of Honda releasing something in the near future that you will like enough to want. So if you can sell both cars at a minor loss you might be better off than trying to hold out for a higher price. It will cost you more to keep ownership of both vehicles in the long run than it would to just sell one at somewhat of a loss right now.
I suppose the other option is to get a higher paying job and keep both of them. Sounds to me like you should sit down and really think about what you truely want before making such a large financial decision again. I prefer the CR-V because, as you've already mentioned, it is better for road trips and the such.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Keep 'em both!!

Hondas have a tendency to accumulate! I am up to four of them, and would not mind takeing in another 'orphan'... They all serve a specific purpose. The Friendly-House-Dragon (wifey) drives the CR-V, The Element is mine, the Odi is the volume and long distance hauler and the old Accord is like a pet... See, this works out just fine...
