Hi all,

After an regular oil change, I am now seeing a drop of oil daily in my driveway and have to bring it back to dealer to check ( how I dread going to dealer ).

What can the problem be ...filter , oil pan?

Thx

Did you use a Honda oil filter? I have used other manufacturer's oil filters in my Honda vehicles before and experienced the same type of oil leak. I haven't had this happen with any of my non-Honda cars in the past with the other manufacturer's filters. I only buy Honda filters now because of the minor leaks that I have had in the past with non-Honda filters for my Honda vehicles.

I think i may have fixed the problem... I got someone to take a look at the filter and it wasn't tightly torqued and the leak came from that area.

That's the last time i'm bringing the car to the dealer and yes it is a honda filter :). It's incredible on how they rob you with the work and $$.

Thx for the input !

John

If they spilled some oil down the side of the block while changing it and did not get it all cleaned up, you could experience a drip for several days or more. Why don't you simply slide under and have a look? You don't need a jack or a ramp.

Yep did that ( got some help ) and it looks like it was the filter which was a bit loose and also cleaned the side where the drip was coming from.

I almost feel like sending the dealer a bill to clean my driveway now that it has a few stains

I almost feel like sending the dealer a bill to clean my driveway now that it has a few stains :mad:Oil stains come right off. Two methods to try.
1. cat litter (new, of course!) Pour a little bit on and scrub it in with your shoe. It acts as an abrasive and cleans the stain off.
2. 50/50 mix of household bleach and water. Pour some on and wait an hour. Rinse thoroughly.
