Dag.........

The "20 minutes install time" from the sight I bought it from is a lie

using the kit they gave me (spacers and carriage bolts) I had to use a sawzall to widen the frame hole (the directions said you "may" need to do this) on top of taking the muffler off the rubber brackets and pushing it aside to make space.

This was a drawtite hitch I purchased from Hitchfinders for $89. All 3 models they sold had similar directions.

I ended up spending about 1.5 hours putting the hitch on. Thats not too bad but I put a hitch on my Element in about 10 minutes.

My 99 took me nearly 2 hours with the Curt hitch due to a problematic exhaust hanger and needing to open up the frame holes. However, I LOVE the Curt hitch. Strong as heck.

yea, the drawtite is solid, but cutting open those holes in the frame - with one above the muffler was a pain. It took several attempts because I was scared I'd cut them too big and permanently ruin my ability to mount the hitch.

I ended up having to wrap a thin wire around the bolt so I wouldn't lose it in the "U" channel bracket.

You'd think Honda would have something a bit more user friendly under the frame.

Sorry that I put this in the accesories thread - I didn't see the thread specifically about hitches

I wondered what those springy things were. I feel pretty dumb now because I made my own!
