Side Mirror fell off!

Howdy all,

While driving down the highway on vacation last week our side rear view mirror on the passenger side fell off. Just the glass fell out and that's it. Anyone have experience with this? Was it covered by warrantee etc?? BTW it's on a 2006 CR-V power mirror and manual fold in.

how long ago did you buy it? if its a defective part then it should be covered under warranty. as long as there isn't evidence that you were in an accident of some sort, you should be ok.

I'd expect it to be covered under warranty, as well. Dealer will probably order a whole mirror & body shop will paint it to match.

If for some reason it isn't covered (evidence that somebody hit the mirror in a parking lot, for example) by all means check with an autoglass store...they may be able to glue a new piece of curved glass into the existing housing for a LOT less.
