Those pics look great. Seem like ur having a blast.
U have probably done quite a few engine mods... can u share?

The engine upgrades are my phase 2 project, and I am trying to budget for it. I am wondering about the air intake, sensors and gaining some 'horses'.

Wonderful shots, I'm glad I kept digging in the crates.
Hit me back and let me know what I can expect from the engine upgrades and average cost.

I know this really goes on the Engine board but I couldnt help it.... ur a racer!

dlarsoncrv,
Dirt or Sand?
Just curious. Doesn't all that 'abuse' do a number on all the seals and the paint?

Don't get me wrong, if that is your thing, seals can be replaced. Just some transmission output shaft and rear diff seals can get kind of outrageous to replace. I got quoted $1200 for the right rear diff output shaft seal on my '88 Camry All-Trac. I decided it was not leaking that bad and that lube was cheap. :)

It is good to see someone actually using their V instead of worshiping it.

More power to ya.

Radar,
Thanks for looking. I have a 2wd so I dont have to worry about the diff.
I race in sand, just a dry up lake bed. I have been very bless/ lucky that nothing has happen to the V. The paint is fine, no chips anywhere. The only thing wrong is, my under carrage is hella drity. All that drit\ dust will never come off.

David,
thanks for answering my question. I appreciate it... and it lets me know I had thought it out decently the 1st time. I really just want to do the skunk 2 intake manifold and the dynaflow exhaust. Still dancing around the cold air short ram intake idea and illegal has some nice ideas I am trying 2 pursue.

That's pretty bold driving for a 2WD DlarsonCRV! Very ballsy indeed. Also, whenever I do off roading I go have the car detailed with a thorough underbody wash to get the grime off. Then I spray an underbody coating (Available at most auto stores) to provide a necessary barrier b/w your precious metals and the elements/nature etc.

Maybe your vee isn't too far gone to enjoy the benefits of a spa. LOL

Thanks again and happy motoring!

What about the the wheel bearing seals? You still have those in the rear!

My thought was that the sand would eventually blast the coatings off if you do enough of that type driving.

I guess my interest was how those areas not protected by plastic were holding up.
Maybe since you don’t put on that many miles doing that type of driving it may not be much of an issue.

Steam cleaning should get the dirt off I would think.

Let’s roll!
