After years of owning Nissans, 4x4's and saloons, I decided to try out Honda.

Just yesterday I took delivery of a CR-V 2.2 CDTi EX with advanced safety pack + 19" Blaze alloys but without the Aero Pack body kit that I had ordered. Honda has put it on back order until Nov 2nd so the car will have to go back into the dealers body shop to have this fitted when it arrives.

So far, really impressed. I had the adaptive cruise control working today and it's amazing, I think this will be a real boon on long distance drives.

The car handles the road really well and is extremly quiet for a diesel.

Only downer on the purchase was that a PC card and memory stick were not supplied as standard. I ordered the these from the dealer (2Gb) at a cost £44 and change + VAT. Not great when you have just forked out close on £30K for the car.

All in all though, I'm very pleased with the new purchase and look forward to many years of driving pleasure.

 As we have heard, the US will be selling Diesels sometime in 2009.The mileage reported on Euro models has been estimated in US Gallon to be 36. This may or may not be the same engine and transmission to be sold in US. If the mileage is 36 US Gallon then you can bet we will all be ordering the new Diesels like hot cakes. The torque rating will be much higher than the gas engines giving greater hill pulling power. Anyone owning the non US diesel CRV's is requested to post the technical data such as miles per gallon, stating the US coversions for miles,or the size in litres or kilometers they are refering to. We all are interested in the engine size, transmission and any other data you might have such as towing ratings curb wieght,etc..

I am jealous! I've just ordered a 2.2 CDTi EX, but without your lovely extras. I would have loved the safety pack, but my company wouldn't let me 'trade up' that far, since it is a £2000 extra, and I couldn't order the Aero pack because it's not factory fit. I really wish the HID lights were available without the radar for less money. The rest of the spec is excellent though as standard (cheapest half decent car I could find with leather, sat nav, rain sensors & auto wipers).

My diesel Accord tourer has an official combined 47.9 UK mpg and I get about 45, so from my new CR-V I expect around 40 UK mpg = 33 US mpg (official is 43.5 UK mpg = 36 US mpg).
Hopefully I will have it in a couple of weeks, so can report back the real mpg.

Hughsey,

Coincidentally mine is in sparkle grey pearl too, lovely. Hope you will enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine.

The list price for Eurovee's car is £29,500 = $60,500 in the UK, just to make the stateside CR-V owners feel a bit better!
