Hi
I've found a nail on my right rear tire and wondering if I would have it patched from the inside, which means the tire will be romoved from the wheel.
My question is, will this mess up the TPMS sensor, if so, I'd rather just use the plug to fix the problem. Thank you

The sensor is fine if all you are doing is repairing the tire. Just have to make sure that the tech repairing the tire is carefull to watch out for the sensor when dismounting and remounting the tire.

I have never had an issue with using a plug in over 25 years and most of them I did myself with the wheel still on the vehicle. I guess this means that I would rather use a plug than a patch.

I would have the new patch/plug used.

The tire can come off with no problems, provided the tire jockey knows about it. Switching stock sensor to new aftermarket wheels, requires a "kit" that is new nut and seal (in most cases) that will add a few bucks to the bottom line.

Just make sure they air it back up to the correct pressure.

the tire pressure moni is out off anything anybody would use to dismount a tire it's on the stem. don't worry the only thing make sure he takes the air out off the tire slowly If not sometimes you have to take the dealer to re program it for u for a fee. I know I work for a dealership any ???

Most tire companies these days use patches they are stronger. They insure that the wider area is sealed than a plug.

so yeah my lil light went off on my dashboard like 2 days ago and i thought that it was the change in the temperature that we're having down here but today i had my boyfriend look at the tire- he checked the pressure and what would ya know, low and behold there was a nail... i didn't even notice that the tire was low, i hadn't looked at the wheels the past few days, but luckily that lil sensor went off on the dash and made me aware that the pressure was low!! woo hoo.. so awesome to have a vehicle that tells you something like that... btw went to the dealer they patched the hole for like 15 bucks and checked all the other tires and made sure the pressure was good, not too bad i guess... just hit a 1000 miles today too!
