There's 15, 16 or 17" wheels on a CR-V for a reason. Personally, I wouldn't go any bigger than 18".

Bigger than that will look goofy, and will cost you a fortune.

The thing about the larger wheels is the tires get smaller. That's the only way they will fit. So less tire means it will ride worse. You will feel every bump, the thing will hop down the road over every bump. Don't go below 65 series or you might as well put on wagon wheels made of wood and steel. If you put on wide whitewalls now everyone will notice especially if the V is painted dark. Just keep them clean.

It won't look good.
The ride will be terrible.
Suspension parts will take the brunt of the rougher ride and deteriorate rapidly.

Thanks guys, for the feedback, makes sense, I was very close to making the change today, but after taking a close look at the aftermarket wheels and tires and had a uncomfortable feeling so i decided to stay with my original look for now.

Hello Everyone! What are your thoughts on upgrading to 20" wheels and tires. I'm contermplating on going bigger just looking for thoughts.

Well I would have to say personally I like 18" Wheels but everyone says 20" look goofy. Well that Blue CR-V that was revealed at the Auto show in 06 which was the 07 model had 20" on it and it looked pretty damn good. The only reason I would not put 20's on my V is because they are too expensive. So if you like them go for it, but keep in mind that fuel economy might suffer a little. Good Luck:)

They look nice but with such a large rim and probable low profile tire that will be needed to fit into the wheel well, how will the ride be? What are the size of the tires and how much will THOSE bad boys cost a piece?

Indeed...photo's when you have them mounted!

245/40/20 front 275/35/20 on the back.

It cost me about $1350 a piece.incl tire.(It's a Italian designer wheel)

But my CRV was about $65.000:eek:

Thats the f!@#ing tax in Holland. :( :(

45.000,- euro = $ 65.000

About 45% is tax and BPM.

I personally would have gone with a 19" rim. With that small of a sidewall (35) you are going to become best friends with your wheel repair man...

I plan on going with 18's and a 235/45/r18 tire
still a fair amount of sidewall  and a great look
20's are cool too just too expensive
for me im used to a stiff ride as i moved from a heavily modded
integra gsr to the CR-V
its like riding on a pillow now :D

Ouch!!!

I thought Canada was taking everyone to the cleaners. We had to cough up $39k for our 07 EX (taxes in).
Can I assume that's more than just VAT tax on there to arrive at $65K?

BTW Very nice looking wheels, those should look great on a black 08 CRV.
Is yours at least a diesel too for that price?

Is yours at least a diesel too for that price?Honda markets the European CR-V as a high-end model and Acura is not in Europe. European CR-V's have many more options and high-end equipment than in North America and they pay the price for it.

You can get 19" as a factory option in the UK - I have ordered mine with them on 19" Blaze - the demo car had them on as well.

If the factory fit 19" I dont think 20" should cause a problem??? - They were a £1000 extra on the EX

Nice picture of your black beauty. North America members, note the nice side marker/turn signal lights in the mirrors. Darn it. We don't get them.
