This is my second Cloud-Rider bumper screen, I had one on my 02V for four years. The quality is very good, stainless steel with rubber surround and good fit. Never had any problems.
The installation was easy with a little finger dexterity. There are five bolts with lock nuts and clip brackets that attach to the five vertical struts in the opening. Here is an inside view.

Not to be a pain but there are several options there and I'm not entirely sure what the differences are. Can you help me to understand?
Am I looking at the Stainless steel gril inserts - combo package?
When I choose Honda CRV EX, LX, EX-L 2007
It gives me 4 options
With License Plate and block heater
With License Plate without block heater
Without License Plate and block heater
Without License Plate with block heater
Which is right for me?

I do have a front license plate holder. I don't know what a block heater is. My CRV doesn't have any aftermarket things added to it.

You are looking at With License Plate without block heater.
A block heater is usually installed by the dealer in colder climates....it plugs in at night to warm up the coolant for easier starts in cold weather.

Yep, I called the toll free number on their website and was told you can order either part of the combo package.
This is the second bumper screen only (02V), I have purchased from Cloud-Rider.

the gutter clips - 1st photo were reattached and used to clip onto fairing, it held tight so i than used 2- plastic (photo shows blue changed to black) cable ties to secure at top middle, the grill itself grabs at the small groove
my cuts were not exact , as i said i'll probably redo with a new piece mesh.
now that i kinda know how i want it should take an hour or less.
the hardest part is the fit , easier if i had template
and working with sharp mesh

will take post more pic later today

maddmaxx,
Nice work on your prototype bumper grill gaurds. I am sure the prototype will be just as effective as the ones from cloud-rider.
If I had the time, I would of also hand crafted and did the same as you did, but with so much overtime at work and a 2 year old son running around , I opted to get the ones from cloud-rider (got shipping for free from the code used on the advertisement (above) :) )
Again, nice work, please repost with your improved grill install and thanks for sharing

Get your template adjusted, take pictures, etc. and make an instruction sheet. Include all parts (ties, etc.) and sell for $30, shipped.
Just a suggestion... :)

These grills look good, but if damage to the A/C condenser by flying rocks, etc. was an issue, I would think the Honda engineers would have addressed it.
There are many cars and trucks on the road with big openings in the front end that are fine with an occasional ding in the condenser fins from a stone.
Airflow is very important. I live in the SW where summer temps are 110+ and any obstruction of airflow could be a problem. Those cloudrider inserts must block X percentage of airflow versus leaving it stock.

You would think Honda would address it......Over on the EOC we have had many cases of road debris taking out a/c condensors on Elements and since Honda doesn't warranty something like that we have the "Home Depot gutter guard" mod. For what i paid for my cloud-reider its a lot cheaper than replacing a condensor.I can't recall anyone mentioning that they had a porblem with over heating from having a CR grille or any other mesh covering over the grill opening.

I have had two CRV's with Cloud-Rider screens for five years, and never had a problem with the A/C due to airflow.
The odds of damage vary with the type of roads you travel. Gravel and secondary type roads increase the odds.
I agree the chance of damage is small, but if the condenser is perforated just once, it will be an expensive issue to repair.

Here is a statement from the Cloud-Rider website about screen airflow:
Q27. Do your screens restrict airflow in warmer climates?
Our screens have been tested in all extremes. We manufacture in the heartland of the Canadian prairie. Although we can experience pretty drastic cold temperatures in the winter, we live through almost opposite heat in the summer. We can have spells where it is +28 degrees C to +32 degrees C (+82.4 degrees F to +89.6 degrees F) for weeks at a stretch. It is not unusual for us to hit +40 degrees C (+104 degrees F). Our ClassicTM, Hexagon and Round ScreensTM remove approx. 35-48% of the steel depending on the application. Our Spectare-MeshTM and BreezeTM remove approx. 60-62% of the steel. Also, most vehicle applications are 'ground breathers' as well as 'nose (grille) breathers' and collect their air from many different places. We have sold just under 1 million screens worldwide in just a bit less than 9 years. Overheating is not an issue with our product.

I know they were positively stupid pictures to use when talking about grill inserts in hot weather. They were all I had of V showing the Cloud-Rider insert. Hadn't really noticed how well a white V disappears in snow. I better not get it stuck with a plow coming.:(

I like your white V pics in the snow. From the looks of the way the snow is layered on the garage roof, you have had several 3+ inch snowfalls in a row.

I had bought a door clip removal tool from Advanced Auto Parts with the intention of slipping the mesh inside the bumper. As a newbie, I couldn't get the bumper clips out. What did you use?

the bumper clips come out with a flat head screwdriver and a door trim removal tool(optional). The screwdriver is used to pry the inside of the clip out slightly. Then the outer and inner part of the clip can be pulled out together by hand or with a trim removal tool.

My intention was to remove the bumper clips and slip it in between. Since I couldn't remove the clips and did not want to damage a 1.5 month old car I thought to try something else.
The mesh slips in vertically on the extreme right (looking at the front of the car) of the driver's side opening of the space. Being somewhat flexible the mesh was easily rotated horizontally into position.
The only problem was the protruding tubes on the passenger side which made it difficult to pull the mesh in front off. As you can see from the pictures, some of edges the mesh on the passenger side are deformed.
