Hello,

In the process of buying a EX 4wd and had a question. Will the spare tire fit inside the cargo compartment area? How would it look? Is it practical?

If you can't put it in the car is it worth it to purchase the additional spare tire cover? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It'll fit in the cargo compartment area, but not under the floor. I'll look like any other cargo, :D Terrible. And, your V will look terrible from the back without the spare. Take a look. ;)

But an extra cover? Why not wait till you need one. You may even decide not to use a cover. Lot of owners prefer that look.

that sucks. So what is that room under the picnic table for? It looks like it's for a spare tire. When I talked about a spare tire cover I meant the one that's made up of molded plastic. That one any good? Or maybe a hard cover?

What are you saying? That you don't like the wheel hanging at the back? If that's the case, buy a 2007. There's no point sticking the spare into the inside and having a major remodeling job to do on the rear door and bumper.

Some prefer the hard cover over the vinyl one. Some don't like covers at all. It's all personal choice.

Maybe you could get a mini-spare (as on an Element) that would fit under the floor. But you would still have to look at that bracket on the rear tailgate-door.

In Japan they sell a Fullmark model without the spare.

Aren't you jealous now?

The hard spare cover, that's a TASTE thing. The fabric cover does a good job protecting against UV deterioration of the spare. It also is a nice bumper when rear ended at low speeds. (Don't ask how I know that. )

In the USA, the CRV-SE comes with the hard cover standard.
